Lead Communications Specialist- Branch Banking

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Communications Consultant to support National Branch Network. This role serves as a strategic communications advisor focused on helping leaders connect strategy, priorities, and change initiatives to thousands of frontline team members across the branch network.

Branch Communications is the critical link between leadership strategy and frontline action, transforming business priorities into clear, actionable communications that drive execution. In this role, you will develop and deliver communication strategies that build awareness, deepen understanding, inspire belief, and strengthen commitment—equipping leaders and teams to confidently deliver results and advance organizational goals.

In This Role, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic communications counsel that supports business priorities and organizational goals.

  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies and plans that connect business initiatives, operational priorities, and change programs into cohesive and compelling narratives.

  • Create executive communications, frontline messaging, presentations, talking points, video and podcast scripts, and leadership materials tailored to branch audiences.

  • Partner closely with readiness, training, operations, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure communications support successful adoption and execution of business initiatives.

  • Translate complex information into simple, clear, and actionable content that helps leaders and employees understand what is changing, why it matters, and what actions are required.

  • Drive channel management strategies that align messaging across multiple communication platforms and experiences.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness and recommend solutions that enhance audience engagement and business outcomes.

  • Foster strong partnerships across a highly matrixed organization, incorporating feedback and balancing diverse stakeholder perspectives to deliver the best outcomes.

  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, accelerate content development, strengthen insights, and drive communication innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of communications experience supporting the financial services industry, with a focus on branch banking, retail banking, or other customer facing-frontline employee teams.

  • Experience developing communication strategies and content for large, geographically dispersed workforces.

  • Multi-channel communication planning and channel management

  • Consulting and influencing with the ability to advise senior leaders and business partners

  • Strong collaboration skills within a highly matrixed and cross-functional environment

  • Presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to simplify complex information and build understanding

  • Experience applying data-driven insights and communication metrics to shape messaging strategies, improve engagement, and support business objectives

  • Ability to navigate complex business situations, manage competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment

  • AI literacy and proficiency leveraging AI-enabled tools

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Copilot

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
