Wells Fargo is seeking a Wealth Banking Specialist (SAFE) within Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Banking, Lending & Trust. This role is responsible for delivering a full range of banking, lending, and deposit solutions to affluent and high-net-worth clients while supporting the overall relationship strategy developed in partnership with Financial Advisors, Wealth Advisors, and other relationship team members. The Wealth Banking Specialist serves as a key client-facing partner, helping clients navigate complex banking needs and identifying opportunities to deepen relationships through tailored credit, cash management, and deposit solutions. Successful individuals in this role demonstrate strong relationship management skills, sound risk acumen, and a commitment to providing an exceptional client experience while operating in a highly regulated environment.
In This Role, You Will
- Manage and service a portfolio of affluent and high-net-worth client relationships involving lending, deposit, and credit solutions.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients’ financial circumstances, goals, and evolving needs to recommend appropriate banking products and services.
- Partner closely with Financial Advisors, Wealth Advisors, Trust Advisors, and other internal partners to deliver integrated banking solutions aligned with overall client objectives.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships through referrals, relationship reviews, and proactive outreach.
- Assist clients with account servicing, deposit products, credit solutions, and general banking inquiries while ensuring a seamless client experience.
- Review financial information, documentation, and client activity to support lending and banking recommendations.
- Execute operational activities and transactions accurately while maintaining adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of banking products, lending solutions, market trends, and business initiatives through ongoing training and professional development.
- Resolve moderately complex client and operational issues through collaboration with internal business partners and support teams.
- Exercise independent judgment while appropriately balancing client needs, business objectives, operational efficiency, and risk management requirements.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Wells Fargo risk management practices, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Support team success by sharing knowledge, mentoring less-tenured colleagues, and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of affluent banking, commercial banking, consumer banking, mortgage banking, or private banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of relationship management experience, including developing, maintaining, and deepening client relationships.
- 2+ years of risk mitigation experience, including identifying, escalating, and managing operational, compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Experience supporting affluent, high-net-worth, or complex client relationships within Wealth Management, Private Banking, Consumer Banking, or Commercial Banking.
- Knowledge of lending, credit, cash management, and deposit products and services.
- Experience reviewing client financial information and identifying solutions that align with client goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of account opening, account maintenance, Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, wire processing, and related operational banking procedures.
- Strong relationship management, client service, and business development skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with clients and partners.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple business channels.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Job Expectations
- This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies.
