About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accounting Associate (1-year FTC) to support and participate in change initiatives and strategic projects across China and the Asia Pacific region, supporting key business priorities and finance transformation efforts. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology, you will contribute to the delivery of regional infrastructure and platform initiatives, drive process improvements, and support high-impact projects that enhance operational efficiency, governance, and business performance.
As part of the Asia Pacific Controller team, you will be responsible for maintaining a strong internal control environment over regulatory, tax, legal entity, and management reporting. The role also supports controllership-related regional and China branch initiatives, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting processes. You will play a critical role in identifying opportunities for improvement, executing strategic priorities, and delivering solutions that support the region's growth agenda and evolving regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will:
- Supports overall APAC regional strategy through contribution to various ad-hoc projects and other tasks assigned in a timely manner.
- Streamline existing processes to identify efficiencies, risks, automate workflows, reduce costs, improve productivity and mitigate financial & regulatory reporting risks.
- Support Renovation and Automation projects, familiar with NAFR, PBOC and SAFE reg reporting instructions and assists with the UAT and related tasks
- Work as a team player, supporting report preparation, external statutory account audits and periodic internal control effectiveness assessments.
- Receive direction from managers and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of financial control functions in accordance with the company’s internal control policies.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues, achieve goals and perform assigned tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ months of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree holder with 3+ years’ experience in financial services or audit
- Experience with EAST, Yibiaotong, Riking and report automation are preferred
- Strong technical skills including a good working knowledge of local regulatory reporting requirements, China GAAP, with exposure to IFRS and USGAAP
- Working experience in preparing or reviewing NAFR, PBOC, SAFE returns are a plus.
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Oracle/Essbase and Alteryx
