About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Manager in Equity Derivatives Technology within Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology. This role will lead engineering teams across Equity Derivatives Technology with responsibility for both the Front Office Risk & Pricing organization and Trade Capture and Lifecycle Management, including the System of Record platform responsible for downstream communication, books and records, and regulatory reporting flows.

The role spans a broad set of trading businesses, including Flow Derivatives, Delta One, Equity Finance & Futures, Convertibles, Corporates, Structured Products, and OTC Derivatives. It will provide strategic technology leadership across the front office risk, pricing, trade capture, lifecycle management, and downstream ecosystem as applications modernize and transition onto strategic platforms.

This is a senior engineering leadership role for a manager who can combine hands-on technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement. You will partner directly with MD-level front office stakeholders across sales, trading, and quantitative teams, including LOB heads, while driving modernization across risk, pricing, scenario generation, trade capture, lifecycle events, system of record capabilities, regulatory reporting, model migration, FRTB implementation, cloud, distributed computing, data platforms, and AI-enabled engineering practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams across Equity Derivatives Technology, including Front Office Risk & Pricing and Trade Capture and Lifecycle Management, while remaining actively involved in architecture, design reviews, code quality, and critical technical decisions.

  • Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for strategic front office risk, pricing, scenario, trade capture, lifecycle management, and system of record platforms, ensuring alignment with business priorities, regulatory commitments, and platform modernization objectives.

  • Continue the buildout and rollout of the strategic risk, pricing, and scenarios platform to support Flow, Delta One, Convertibles, Corporates, Structured Products, and other Equity Derivatives desks.

  • Own and modernize Trade Capture and Lifecycle Management capabilities, including the System of Record platform responsible for authoritative trade state, lifecycle events, downstream communication, and regulatory reporting flows.

  • Provide technical leadership and transition plans for applications across the ecosystem as risk, pricing, trade capture, lifecycle, and downstream flows migrate to strategic platforms, simplifying architecture and reducing operational risk.

  • Face off to MD-level front office stakeholders across sales, trading, quant teams, and LOB leadership to shape priorities, communicate delivery progress, and drive business outcomes.

  • Partner closely with PMO, QA, BA, architecture, platform, operations, and control teams to ensure deliveries meet functional, non-functional, resiliency, performance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Define and govern standard patterns for AI-enabled engineering, including AI-assisted and LLM-based software development, prompt-driven development, automated test generation, diagnostics, documentation, and developer productivity tooling.

  • Architect and guide enterprise-standard LLM integrations, including MCP-based services, to support development tooling, system observability, controlled automation, and platform engineering capabilities.

  • Establish guardrails for reliable, explainable, auditable, and secure use of AI within electronic trading technology, ensuring AI-enabled workflows align with data protection, regulatory compliance, and model risk management expectations.

  • Partner with platform, security, risk, compliance, and control teams to evaluate advances in GenAI, agentic AI, and applied machine learning and selectively apply them to improve engineering practices and platform capabilities.

  • Manage critical deliveries related to model migration, FRTB implementation, trade lifecycle modernization, regulatory reporting, technology modernization, platform resiliency, and operational stability while fostering a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of building front office risk, pricing, analytics, scenario, trade capture, lifecycle management, system of record, trading, or market data platforms in a capital markets environment

  • 7+ years of Proven experience modernizing platforms using cloud, microservices, distributed computing, event-driven architectures, and strong engineering controls

  • 7+ years of software architecture, performance engineering, security, observability, resiliency, and production stability expertise

  • 7+ years of managing complex technology deliveries across multiple teams, including regulatory reporting, model migration, FRTB, trade lifecycle modernization, and platform transformation initiatives

  • 7+ years of defining AI-enabled engineering practices, developer productivity tooling, LLM integration patterns, and secure governance models for enterprise technology platforms

Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep capital markets experience across equity derivatives, front office risk, pricing, scenarios, trade capture, lifecycle management, system of record platforms, downstream processing, market data, or regulatory reporting platforms

  • Experience delivering strategic risk, pricing, trade capture, lifecycle, or system of record platforms supporting front office users, downstream consumers, quantitative models, regulatory initiatives, and high-volume analytics or processing workloads.

  • Experience with model migration, FRTB implementation, scenario generation, cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, and observability tooling
