Senior FP&A Analyst - Consumer Banking & Lending

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join the FP&A team within Consumer Banking & Lending (CBL) Finance. CBL offers diversified financial products and services for consumers and small businesses including checking and savings accounts, credit and debit cards, as well as home, auto, personal, and small business lending. The FP&A team serves as a central partner to business and finance leaders for forecasting, reporting, strategic planning, and executive routines across CBL. The team partners closely with the CBL CFO and LOB finance teams while also serving as the primary liaison to Corporate FP&A, Investor Relations, and other functions like Corporate Strategy. The Senior Analyst will play a key part in coordinating those efforts and supporting senior leadership decision making.


In this role, you will:

  • Own a balanced portfolio of recurring FP&A deliverables (forecast, planning, reporting) as well as ad hoc analyses and strategic projects, exercising sound judgement to anticipate needs, research/solve problems, and deliver high quality results
  • Synthesize financial results, business drivers, and strategic commentary across ~7 CBL businesses, ensuring that key messages are clear, accurate, and fit for the audience (CFOs, business leaders, external investors, etc.)
  • Serve as a trusted partner to CBL CFOs and their teams by driving planning and reporting routines, communicating evolving requirements in a timely manner, and coordinating execution
  • Anticipate the needs of executive leaders by shaping reporting content, challenging assumptions, and delivering materials or analyses that are decision-ready
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-to-senior level managers to resolve issues and improve reporting transparency
  • Represent CBL in finance transformation initiatives, helping drive improvements in reporting, data capabilities, processes, and tools that increase efficiency and decision-usefulness
  • Collaborate with Corporate FP&A, Investor Relations, and other enterprise partners to support company-wide reporting, quarterly earnings, and executive deliverables (board meetings, Operating Committee, etc.)
  • Make decisions in maintaining effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standards and internal control standards


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical experience.
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong written/storytelling and presentation building skills with ability to distill complex financial results, drivers, risks, and opportunities into clear, audience-appropriate messages for executives, external stakeholders, etc.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to navigate complex financial hierarchies, data sources, and system challenges to identify issues, connect the dots across inputs, and deliver accurate, actionable results
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations where direction may be evolving, applying sound judgement to define next steps, mobilize stakeholders, and drive outcomes
  • Strong partnership and influence skills to improve processes and drive alignment towards shared outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
