About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer to join the Technology Control Management.  This role will contribute to control oversight and risk leadership for Technology third party functions.

This individual will partner closely with Technology senior leadership, Technology Risk, Audit and enterprise groups to establish and maintain a strong control environment surrounding the usage of third party.

This role will be responsible for risk identification and assessment, control design and evaluation, issue management, governance reporting, regulatory engagement and the advancement of automation strategies that embed controls into the control environment. 

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior technology and control management leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of control frameworks supporting various third-party focus areas.
  • Provide strategic oversight of enterprise technology risk, operational risk, resiliency risk, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of controls and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead assessment and remediation activities associated with audits, regulatory examinations, horizontal reviews, and independent testing. 
  • Drive proactive identification of emerging technology risks.   
  • Conduct risk and control governance activities, including preparation of executive-level reporting, risk committee materials, and regulatory updates. 
  • Mentor and guide control officers and virtual teams supporting technology control execution. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 
  • 5+years supporting large-scale technology organizations 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in technology third-party risk management within a large financial services or highly regulated environment.   
  • Strong knowledge of third-party cybersecurity emerging topics, SaaS governance, third party resiliency, AI vendor risk, data risk and technology control frameworks. 
  • Knowledge of OCC Heightened Standards, FFIEC guidance, NIST, COBIT, and enterprise technology policies. 
  • Experience managing and executing risk programs that align to a Risk, Compliance or Control function. 
  • Broad and significant knowledge of Technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls inherent in a complex environment 
  • Strong ability and experience working with and collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic elements of financial, operational, technical and regulatory environments across a complex global services environment 
  • Track record of providing constructive consulting with appropriate issue escalation and offering solutions 
  • Experience performing centralized governance, oversight responsibilities, and the facilitation of strategic planning for the Technology Control Framework. 
  • Experience performing the centralized collection, administration and support for all critical engagements applicable to the Technology Control Framework facilitating collaboration of accountable resources and subject matter experts as required; delivering on Technology Control Framework commitments. 
  • Developing and performing all centralized process/control effectiveness and data compliance monitoring. Facilitates the identification, planning and oversight for associated remediation activities. 
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
