Due Diligence Consultant – Transactional Risk & Intelligence Group (TRIG)

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking two Due Diligence Consultants to support Financial Crimes Operations Transactional Risk and Intelligence Group (TRIG) functions within Chief Operating Office (COO). This role is responsible for performing transaction-based customer profile reviews related to complex and elevated risk profiles to generate actionable recommendations to line of business risk management teams. In this role, you will:

  • Conduct customer due diligence reviews by evaluating transaction activity, customer behavior, geographic exposure, relationships, and other relevant risk indicators
  • Research low to moderately complex customer profiles and emerging money laundering and terrorist financing risks using internal systems, external sources, and established review procedures
  • Review and analyze due diligence cases that require research, evaluation, and selection among established alternatives
  • Apply intermediate knowledge of financial crimes risk, due diligence requirements, policies, and technical methods to complete medium-risk deliverables
  • Document clear, well-supported findings, risk assessments, dispositions, and recommendations in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex cases and escalate identified risks or unusual activity through established channels
  • Use transactional and customer data, including large data sets, to identify patterns, relationships, and opportunities to mitigate risk
  • Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities to improve due diligence processes, controls, reporting, or review procedures within the functional area
  • Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal business partners, risk partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues and support due diligence decisions
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of reviews, supporting research, findings, recommendations, and escalation decisions


Required Qualifications:

  • Process efficiency expertise including assessment and recommendations for improvement
  • Experience in evaluating risks including communicating relevant findings in a concise, decisive, timely, and market-appropriate manner
  • Experienced with Anti-Money Laundering, financial crimes analysis, and fraud investigations including filing and/or reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
  • Experienced with Wells Fargo Transactional Risk and Intelligence Group (TRIG) including Event-Driven Review analysis processes and procedures
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams) skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint to effectively manage extremely large and complex sets of transactional data
  • Working knowledge of risk and regulatory disciplines Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) programs such as Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Know Your Customer (KYC)
  • Working knowledge of products, systems, and tools such as Automated Clearing House (ACH), cash vault, check products, Cornerstone, Hogan, Online Image Browser (OIB), Unusual Activity Report (UAR) Portal, Wholesale Customer Information System (WCIS), and wires
  • Analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound independent judgment, anticipate risks and opportunities to drive strategic and tactical initiatives, and make timely, data-driven decisions
  • Organized with multitasking skills thriving in fast-paced environments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards
  • Experienced in collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust, foster teamwork, influencing outcomes, synthesize complex data and communicate information clearly to identify key risks, customer impacts, and financial implications with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt within an operations environment
  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders while leading meetings and delivering communications and presentations
  • Demonstrated professionalism and integrity when partnering across all organizational levels, including executive leadership
  • Experienced in driving organizational change and delivering measurable, results-oriented outcomes
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Wells Fargo Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Sanctions Credential Program, etc.


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • Ability to work additional hours, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • Adhere to standards outlined with written policy as well as applicable State and Federal regulations
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening

Pay Range
 


Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$60,000.00 - $91,000.00
