About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Director to serve as Chief of Staff to the Head of Global Workforce Relations (GWR), a critical function within Human Resources (HR). This highly visible leadership role will act as a strategic advisor and execution partner, translating business priorities into coordinated strategies, operating plans, executive communications, financial decisions, and measurable outcomes.
The director will oversee the business management agenda for GWR, including communications, budget and resource management, strategic planning, governance, process improvement, and complex strategic initiatives. This leader will evaluate business challenges, develop strategies and implementation roadmaps, and coordinate execution across stakeholders across HR and the broader enterprise to improve organizational effectiveness and advance GWR priorities.
This leader will manage a team and operate as an extension of the executive, ensuring leadership readiness, disciplined execution, and cross-functional alignment across a complex and highly visible portfolio. The role will handle sensitive and confidential matters and provide sound judgment, constructive challenge, and clear recommendations to support executive decision-making.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as Chief of Staff and trusted advisor to the Head of GWR, shaping strategy, translating priorities into actionable plans, and driving execution across the organization.
- Lead, develop, and align a team responsible for business management, executive support, communications, governance, operational planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Own the GWR strategic planning process, including priorities, operating plans, milestones, dependencies, performance measures, executive updates, and accountability routines.
- Lead executive and organizational communications, including leadership messaging, presentations, town halls, employee updates, offsites, and materials for senior-level forums.
- Oversee budget planning, financial management, resource allocation, workforce planning, and organizational reporting; identify tradeoffs and provide recommendations aligned with GWR priorities.
- Lead complex strategic initiatives from assessment through implementation, including defining objectives, evaluating options, establishing decision criteria, assessing stakeholder impacts, sequencing execution, and developing clear implementation timelines.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, clarify ownership, reduce complexity, and improve operating effectiveness; sponsor cross-functional solutions through implementation and adoption.
- Ensure executive readiness for leadership forums and key stakeholder engagements through proactive planning, decision support, briefing materials, risk identification, and follow-through.
- Establish governance and operating rhythms that create visibility into priorities, decisions, risks, dependencies, financial performance, and execution progress.
- Partner with leaders and stakeholders across Human Resources, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Technology, and other enterprise functions to align strategies and deliver critical initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Human Resources Experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience serving as a Chief of Staff, strategic advisor, business execution leader, or business manager to executive-level leaders within a large, complex organization.
- Strong Human Resources background, including experience supporting Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Workforce Relations, Human Capital, or other employee-facing functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic planning efforts and translating executive priorities into operating plans, governance routines, milestones, and measurable business outcomes.
- Strong financial and business management experience, including management of complex budgets, resource allocation, workforce planning, forecasting, and executive reporting.
- Experience leading workforce transformation, organizational effectiveness, location strategy, employee experience, culture change, or other large-scale enterprise change initiatives.
- Proven ability to drive execution and deliver results across multiple priorities while navigating ambiguity, managing competing demands, and maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Exceptional executive communication skills, including leadership messaging, briefing materials, presentation development, organizational communications, and executive storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor and extension of executive leadership by anticipating needs, preparing leaders for key decisions, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving accountability for follow-through.
- Executive presence and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships and drive alignment across Human Resources, Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Technology, and other enterprise stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation solutions, to enhance productivity, improve organizational effectiveness, streamline operations, and support workforce transformation.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
