Risk Analytics Consultant- SAS

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analytics Consultant to join the Consumer Home Lending Controller's Group (CLG) Accounting Analytics team. This role will support the overall data strategy for the Home Lending Controller's Group in partnership with business line and corporate stakeholders.

The selected candidate will work alongside a team of analytics professionals supporting large-scale initiatives across CLG. The team delivers data management, reporting, governance, and analytical services for the Accounting and Financial Reporting teams within Home Lending, as well as key stakeholders across CLG and Corporate Finance.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of audiences. The individual will utilize multiple querying and reporting tools to provide meaningful insights, support decision-making, and partner with stakeholders across business, finance, technology, and executive leadership teams.

In this role, you will:

• Participate in moderately complex analytics and reporting initiatives, delivering insights and decision-support strategies while contributing to large-scale Risk Analytics planning efforts.
• Review, analyze, and validate data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and programming models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Support production processes, perform data reconciliations, and maintain model documentation in accordance with governance and policy requirements.
• Resolve data, production, and business modeling issues while ensuring timely delivery of Risk Analytics objectives and deliverables.
• Apply knowledge of risk reporting policies, modeling methodologies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards to support business objectives.
• Collaborate with peers, managers, compliance partners, and technology teams to address forecasting, reporting, and production challenges and achieve analytical goals.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and automation requirements, validate results, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that enhance reporting transparency and process efficiency.
• Support governance, audit readiness, and operational controls through documentation management, access reviews, change management, validation evidence, and production support procedures.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across SAS queries, data sources, reporting processes, and related dependencies.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that strengthen controls, increase efficiency, and improve reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of reporting and analytical experience utilizing SAS.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining SAS data extraction, transformation, and manipulation code.
• Ability to independently analyze operational data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations based on findings.
• Experience supporting the full report development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
• Strong documentation maintenance and governance experience, including creating and updating process documentation, reporting procedures, data dictionaries, and audit/control evidence to support compliance and operational readiness.
