This Principal Technology Business Services Consultant role serves as a strategic advisor to the Head of Technology, helping drive key technology priorities, executive communications, and high-impact initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities include leading special projects, developing executive and board-level presentations, conducting complex analyses, and supporting strategic decision-making. The role partners closely with stakeholders across Technology, Corporate Strategy, Audit, HR, and other business groups to drive alignment, gather insights, and advance critical initiatives. This position requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with senior leaders and partners across the enterprise.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a top subject matter professional to lead complex, innovative, high-risk, and enterprise-wide technology initiatives with significant scope, impact, cost, and business value.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of the most complex technology challenges across multiple lines of business, while defining, developing, and implementing technology strategies, processes, and programs with broad organizational impact.
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise to influence technology direction, drive strategic outcomes, and ensure alignment with enterprise and corporate business objectives.
  • Lead execution of the Wells Fargo Technology Strategy, including strategic planning, benchmarking, outcome tracking, performance measurement, and executive reporting.
  • Develop and deliver executive communications, presentations, business updates, and strategic materials for senior leadership, including the Operating Committee, Board of Directors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive the technology strategic review cycle, including annual, quarterly, and monthly business reviews, while ensuring consistent messaging around technology priorities, progress, risks, and accomplishments.
  • Partner with and influence leaders across technology, Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Communications, and other key functions to advance strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
  • Lead the technology team in supporting business objectives, driving operational execution, and delivering efficient, timely, and reliable service to executives, business partners, and team members.
  • Promote organizational change management and readiness by helping stakeholders understand, adopt, and execute strategic and operational changes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders, leveraging knowledge of the technology landscape and industry trends to continuously evolve and enhance the technology strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Information Technology in support of Business Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Consulting, Enterprise Technology Strategy, Corporate Strategy & Planning, or Business Services functions

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in business, technology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with strategic planning in a Corporate or Enterprise Technology environment
  • Strategic portfolio and planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and thrive in an agile working environment, and to transition existing non-agile teams to an agile and autonomous way of working
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
  • Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Experience managing complex projects in a large enterprise environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated creativity in writing and in ideas for delivery of content
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to generate, review, edit, and distribute executive level reports
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to write about complex technical topics in a simple and clear manner applicable to a variety of audiences
  • Must be able to comprehend, analyze and interpret documents with the ability to note critical takeaways
  • Proven ability to understand the needs and interests of different target audiences
  • Works independently while keeping management informed
