About this Role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Market Risk Specialist to join the Structuring and Controls team within the Corporate Market Risk Group (CMRG). This role will support the numerical and booking review process for new structured product issuances from the Structured Investments Group (SIG) within the Equities Division and the Cross Assets Solutions Group (CAS) within the Macro Division of WFS. Products include Market-Linked Notes and Market-Linked Certificates of Deposit.
This is a hands-on analytical role that provides exposure to structured products, market risk controls, and cross‑functional collaboration. The Market Risk Specialist supports independent modeling, numerical validation, and documentation review under established frameworks and guidance.
In this role, you will:
- Learn and build knowledge of structured products, cash flow structures, and related market concepts
- Perform numerical reviews and booking reviews for structured product issuances following defined procedures
- Apply foundational knowledge of bonds, options, futures, and other derivatives to understand and analyze underlying components
- Use and maintain Excel-based analytical tools and review templates, including VBA-enabled workbooks, to support validation activities
- Identify and escalate discrepancies, data issues, or control gaps with guidance from senior team members
- Work closely with partners in Origination & Execution, trading, structuring, legal, and compliance to understand product features and issuance details
- Prepare review summaries, maintain documentation, and support audit and governance requirements
- Adapt to new products, features, and process enhancements as the business evolves
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years of market risk, Capital Markets, desk analyst, trading, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with interest in financial modeling or programming
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn
