Associate, Municipal Desk Securities Sales Trading

Markets provides solutions to clients with the means to manage their exposure through various derivatives, lending and cash products across Structured Products Group, Rates, Equities, Foreign Exchange, Municipal Products Group, Credit Sales & Trading.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Sales Trading Associate to join our Municipal Products Groups team. Municipal Products Groups (MPG) provides capital raising, financing, and interest rate risk management solutions for municipal issuers and institutional investors as well as market liquidity.


In this role, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with various groups within the Municipal Products Group including Investor Finance, Public Finance, Municipal Cash Sales & Trading, and Municipal Derivative Marketing & Trading
  • Perform credit risk management and asset surveillance support
    • Assist in reviewing and monitoring credits and exposures.
    • Maintain ongoing credit files, track rating updates, and prepare supporting credit summaries.
  • Support the booking and lifecycle management of financing workflows including- executing new trades, add-ons, and terminations / unwinds.
  • Coordinate with Middle Office, Operations, and Finance to ensure accurate trade capture and reconciliation.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain transaction files
  • Assist with revenue tracking and reconciliation, especially for gain‑share arrangements and other structured revenue components.
  • Partner with Finance and control groups to resolve breaks and support month‑ and quarter‑end processes
  • Maintain a client activity tracker
  • Prepare marketing presentations, internal pitch materials, and investor‑facing content.
  • Build analytical exhibits and transaction summaries for financing discussions and investor updates.
  • Assist in maintaining dashboards and recurring reporting tools.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Securities Sales Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large sets of complex data
  • Some experience with programming languages including Python desirable
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • An energetic self-starter who is detail-oriented with strong quantitative skills and enjoys working in a team environment; ability to work with little direct supervision and thrive in a high energy environment.
  • Very comfortable and efficient in Excel.  Experience writing formulas; organizing, analyzing, and formatting data; and recognizing and auditing errors.
  • Analytical thinker.  Able to make decisions and recommendations that are well reasoned.


Job Expectations:

  • Registration for FINRA Series 52 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
