About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product designer.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives including those that provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
Develop and execute customer experience solutions for online applications and websites
Be accountable for overseeing the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
Review and analyze complex industry leading user interface design solutions that require the evaluation of multiple factors
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
Manage the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
Serve as design advocate with the ability to forecast and assess industry trends and their impact on the company's product design alternatives
Build and enhance working relationships within the information and interface design function and community outside of the company
Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
Lead customer experience strategy for platforms and products
Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations and participate in roadmap planning and virtual teams
Make decisions in customer experience strategy for platforms and products requiring understanding of the function and compliance requirements
Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholder
Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Motion Design, Animation, Video Design, Product Design, or related disciplines
- Proven experience creating motion‑rich digital product experiences (beyond pure marketing or brand content)
- A strong portfolio demonstrating:
- Product animations and interaction design
- Motion systems, patterns, or guidelines
- Video and time‑based storytelling for digital products
- Hands‑on experience using AI tools for creation, applied to motion, video, or visual exploration
- Deep understanding of motion fundamentals (timing, easing, choreography), accessibility, and performance considerations
- Strong collaboration skills with engineers and cross‑disciplinary partners
- Clear, confident communication with senior and global stakeholders
We are seeking a Lead Product Designer (Motion‑First) with deep expertise in animation, video, and motion design for digital products. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on creative leadership, craft excellence, influence, and governance.
You will own the end‑to‑end motion vision, define standards and governance, and work hands‑on creating high‑impact motion and video experiences. You will also actively leverage AI‑based tools and workflows to accelerate ideation, storytelling, and production.

Job Expectations:
- Experience owning or evolving motion guidelines within a design system
- Background in enterprise, financial or SaaS products with complex workflows
- Strong visual design foundation alongside motion expertise
- Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces
You are a motion‑first design lead who understands how animation, video, and AI‑assisted creation can simplify complex systems, elevate storytelling, and strengthen both product and brand experiences. You are comfortable influencing without formal authority and setting standards that others adopt.
You apply motion intentionally knowing when it adds clarity and impact, and when restraint is essential.
