About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Operations Manager within our Commercial Banking Operations team. This senior leadership role provides oversight across operational governance, risk management, financial controls, people leadership, and regulatory/audit engagement for the Canada Bank Branch. The role is for a vacancy in our Toronto office.


In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, escalation, and voice of Commercial Banking Operations with multiple Lines of Business (LOBs), ensuring alignment, issue resolution, and effective operational support

  • Actively engage with and support key LOBs, including Commercial, Middle Market/Business Banking Group, Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Commercial Capital and Equipment Finance

  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders to drive operational excellence, compliance, and effective change delivery

  • Own and manage the documentation of known operational risks within the RCSA platform, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and ongoing relevance

  • Lead end‑to‑end people management activities, including hiring, onboarding, training, ongoing coaching and salary administration process in alignment with enterprise guidelines, to build a capable, engaged, and high‑performing team

  • Establish clear job objectives for direct reports and conduct continual feedback, formal annual performance reviews, and development planning

  • Maintain ownership of performance improvement plans, ensuring timely intervention, clarity of expectations, and fair outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reviews covering audits and internal reviews, acting as a point of accountability for Operations responses and remediation actions

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable regulations impacting Operations processing, including FINTRAC, OSFI, FATCA, Tax Withholding, and Wire Transfer Policy, and ensure ongoing adherence across operational activities


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a complex, regulated financial services environment

  • Proven ability to manage operational risk, controls, and regulatory interactions

  • ​Strong knowledge with Commercial Banking, Wholesale Operations, Cash Management and Treasury Management

  • Strong change management, process improvement, or operational excellence background

  • Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to influence across lines of business

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills

  • Sound analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are critical

  • Results oriented with outstanding ability to motivate teams and mobilize the resources to accomplish objectives

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$118,000.00 - $201,000.00
