About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Director as part of the Account and Data Management team responsible for teams that support client onboarding, account setup, and ongoing account maintenance activities. This role manages multiple people leaders and teams delivering critical front‑line operational services, while ensuring strong risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through process simplification and automation.
The role partners closely with Product, Technology, Compliance, Risk, and Business stakeholders to modernize account opening and maintenance processes, reduce manual work, improve straight‑through processing, and enhance the client and advisor experience.
In this role, you will:
- Supervise experienced managers and other specialized teams of managers globally
- Deliver moderate to high complexity organization level initiatives for cross functional stakeholders
- Identify strategies for process improvement and risk control development within security operations
- Lead security operations team by making strategic decisions to resolve complex issues and meet higher risk deliverables
- Develop range of policies and procedures for functions with moderate to higher complexity
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Securities Operations
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Client Onboarding / Account Maintenance experience
- 3+ years of Data Management experience
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and data analytics to streamline reporting, identify trends, and drive process improvements, including experience automating workflows or enhancing operational efficiency through technology.
- Strong understanding of risk management and control frameworks, with experience reviewing processes for accuracy and compliance, identifying control gaps, and implementing improvements to mitigate operational and regulatory risk.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Job Expectations:
Registration for FINRA Series 99, or equivalent, must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire.
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.
