Wells Fargo is seeking a Due Diligence Manager


In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and lead a team responsible for executing end‑to‑end due diligence reviews of bank customers and transactional activity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee work involving a moderate to high degree of complexity and risk, exercising sound judgment to assess appropriateness of processes, controls, and outcomes.
  • Own and manage the client onboarding due diligence process, engaging effectively with clients, relationship teams, and relevant third parties.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risk through robust due diligence frameworks and investigative rigor.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen risk controls, and recommend process improvements aligned with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
  • Ensure consistent execution of due diligence programs, processes, and controls to identify, assess, and mitigate financial crime, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Manage communication and collaboration with key stakeholders including Business Heads, Legal, Audit, Compliance, and Regulators on business‑specific risk programs.
  • Make sound decisions and resolve escalated issues within the due diligence functional area to support timely risk mitigation and achievement of business objectives.
  • Interpret, implement, and enhance policies, standards, and procedures for functions of low to moderate complexity within the assigned scope.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing optimization of procedures, controls, analytics, and trend analysis to support comprehensive research and background investigations.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in data collection, sourcing, and analysis across internal and external information sources.
  • Collaborate with and influence professionals at all levels, including senior leadership, to drive risk‑based decision making.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing team to consistently meet performance, quality, and risk management objectives.
  • Manage allocation of people, budgets, and other resources for the Due Diligence group in alignment with business priorities.
  • Mentor and guide direct reports, support succession planning, and actively participate in hiring and talent development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Due Diligence experience, or equivalent (including risk management, client service, operations support, or business process management) demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in Due Diligence or closely related fields such as risk management, KYC/AML operations, client onboarding, client service, or business process management, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including team management, performance coaching, and resource planning.
  • Strong understanding of due diligence, financial crime risk, regulatory expectations, and control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage complex workstreams, make risk‑based decisions, and drive execution through teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, CRCM, or equivalent (will be an advantage)
  • Experience supporting regulatory exams, audits, and interactions with external regulators.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process transformation, automation, or analytics‑based risk programs.
  • Experience working in a global or matrixed operating environment.
