About this role
Drive Transformation in Legal Technology at Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Technology Director to play a critical role in transforming how technology enables the Legal organization. This leader will operate as a strategic technology partner to Legal leadership, shaping priorities, influencing outcomes, and driving delivery of innovative solutions across eDiscovery, litigation support, and data governance.
This is not a traditional delivery role. You will operate in a highly matrixed environment, working across Legal, Compliance, Product, Operations, and Technology to define problems, align stakeholders, and deliver scalable, high-impact solutions. You will bring clarity to ambiguity, build strong relationships, and ensure technology investments drive meaningful business outcomes.
You will also champion an AI-first approach, partnering directly with Legal stakeholders to identify, pilot, and scale AI-enabled solutions that reimagine workflows and improve efficiency, risk management, and decision-making.
If you are a relationship-driven leader who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about applying technology and AI to solve real business problems, this is a unique opportunity to lead transformation at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted, consultative partner to senior Legal and Compliance stakeholders—shaping problem definitions, influencing priorities, and aligning technology solutions to business outcomes
Drive alignment across Business, Product, Operations, and Technology, influencing without authority to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions
Lead development and evolution of applications supporting eDiscovery, litigation, and legal operations
Architect and oversee integrations across eDiscovery platforms and enterprise systems, enabling interoperability and scalability
Drive API strategy and automation to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across the legal technology ecosystem
Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, navigating complex stakeholder dynamics to manage tradeoffs and deliver results
Bring structure to ambiguous, high-stakes problems, identifying root causes and guiding teams toward effective, scalable solutions
Partner with Legal stakeholders to identify, pilot, and scale AI-enabled use cases, driving measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and risk mitigation
Champion and operationalize the Product Operating Model, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and predictable delivery across matrixed teams
Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and regulatory requirements within the financial services environment
Manage vendor relationships and platform lifecycle activities for tools such as Exterro, Relativity, Nuix, and Microsoft 365 Purview
Establish and promote best practices across application lifecycle management, including CI/CD and DevOps
