About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as a key participant in overseeing lending activities for a wholesale banking business and geographic market
  • Review and research complex multifaceted, large scale, and long term business challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and teams or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA (Finance /Banking), Cost and Management Accountancy, Chartered Accountancy or post- graduation in Economics.
  • Good knowledge on financial statements for various industries (preferably Real Estate) with ability to ascertain trends, ratios and call out key risks when compared to benchmarks (historical and industry performance).
  • Working knowledge of Discounted Cash Flow, Comparable Company, and Precedent Transaction analysis. Working experience with Moody’s Risk Analytics would be a plus.
  • Should be aware of key factors which helps in assessing credit worthiness of borrower.
  • Excellent communication skills, with special focus on business writing skills for credit reports.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and synthesize data regarding borrower performance / market related information from multiple sources into one prescribed template.
