Senior Data Engineer

About this Role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to join the Consumer Platform & Insights team to help build and scale the Customer to Touchpoint (C2T) application. Wells Fargo’s enterprise capability that connects customer data to digital touchpoints with high reliability, security, and speed. You will design and deliver cloud-native data pipelines, services, and automation on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), enabling analytics, reporting, regulatory use cases.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who thrives at the intersection of data engineering, platform reliability, and production excellence owning outcomes from design to deployment.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale software planning for the Technology area
  • Design, develop, and run tooling to discover problems in data and applications and report the issues to engineering and product leadership
  • Design & build cloud data pipelines on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub) using Airflow DAGs, Python, and SQL; optimize for throughput, cost, and reliability
  • Partner across CPI and business: collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Risk to prioritize backlogs, deliver roadmaps, and meet executive commitments
  • Review and analyze complex software enhancement initiatives for business, operational or technical improvements that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted data engineering situations requiring understanding of software package options and programming language and compliance requirements that influence and lead Technology to meet deliverables and drive organizational change
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with internal partners to resolve highly risky data engineering challenges
  • Work on developing/using AI Agents to accelerate the development

Tools & Technologies You’ll Use:

  • Languages: Python, SQL; Big Query SQL
  • Orchestration: Apache Airflow; Autosys.
  • Cloud: GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, IAM)
  • DevOps: GitHub, Harness, CI/CD, Terraform

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of software/data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines and services.
  • Experience with SQL; Python development
  • Experience in Apache Airflow (DAG design, retries, trigger rules, sensors)
  • GCP proficiency: BigQuery SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, IAM; experience with performance tuning and cost control.
  • CI/CD experience (e.g., Harness, GitHub, automated testing).
  • Experience in Metadata management (dataplex)
  • Experience on Ab-initio / Informatica
  • GCP Certifications

Job Expectations:

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$120,000.00 - $196,000.00
