Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Engineer to serve as a critical liaison between the Hogan core banking platform and modern distributed systems. In this role, you will own and lead Hogan modules end to end, guiding teams through complex Hogan driven initiatives while ensuring seamless integration with contemporary digital and data platforms. You will be responsible for setting technical direction, driving execution of large-scale Hogan enhancements, and ensuring solutions are well documented and consumable by distributed system teams. This role requires deep Hogan expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to translate mainframe-based functionality into scalable, modern architectures.
In this role, you will lead and influence complex technology initiatives with enterprise wide impact. You will serve as a key contributor in shaping engineering standards and defining companywide best practices for building large scale, high performance technology solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading complex technology initiatives, including programs with broad, companywide impact
- Acting as a key participant in defining and evolving engineering standards and best practices across technology disciplines
- Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting solutions for complex projects and multi program initiatives
- Reviewing and analyzing large scale technology solutions aligned to tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technology landscape, and complex technical challenges that require evaluation of multiple factors, including intangible or unprecedented considerations
- Making decisions that influence companywide engineering practices by applying industry best practices and modern technologies, while leading teams to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborating with senior engineers, architects, key technical experts, and external industry partners to resolve complex technical issues and achieve shared goals
- Leading projects and teams, or serving as a peer mentor to elevate engineering maturity across the organization
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- Hands on coding experience with Hogan core components, including both online and batch processing
- Deep understanding of Hogan CIS architecture, including Hogan data groups and their enterprise usage
- Working knowledge of ALM and Octane for defect tracking, test management, and delivery execution
- Proficiency using 3270 terminal screens for Hogan inquiry, analysis, and operational support
- Strong ability to partner with cross functional teams across mainframe, distributed systems, and data platforms
- Strong expertise in PCDs and PAS message structures, including hands on implementation and troubleshooting
- Experience developing and maintaining Hogan online programs using PCD based integrations
- Hands on experience building and managing Hogan batch extracts and downstream data consumption
- Prior experience assisting with Change Data Capture for Hogan, including adding new fields to existing Hogan data groups and coordinating downstream impacts

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
