About this role:
Wells Fargo's DSDC Technology team is seeking a best-in-class Lead Software Engineer. This leader will be responsible for architecting, designing and implementing strategic capabilities to modernize and scale legacy platforms within the Data Services space. They will play a critical role in Java development activities as well as shaping the product definition, design, roadmap, and development of the current and new products. The team promotes modern data engineering best practices intended to improve quality and improve time to market. Key skills include solutions architecture, domain driven design, test driven design and experience building and deploying, mission critical microservices in a private or a public cloud environment.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of experience in Java development
5+ years of experience in API development
5+ years of experience in SpringBoot
2+ years of experience in Kafka
Experience with SDLC processes and Agile methodologies
Experience with workflow management tools such as Jira and Confluence
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with cloud platforms like PCF and OpenShift
Experience with test driven development and associated tools and practices
Experience with messaging platforms like Solace and IMQ
Experience with CI/CD tools like Github Actions and Harness
Experience identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities and mitigation experience
Experience understanding business requirements and translating to technical design
Ability to work directly with upstream/downstream partner teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
