About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Product / Data Management Director– India Lead to drive end-to-end data product execution, governance, and transformation initiatives from India in support of global stakeholders.
This role will act as the in-region leader for data product delivery, translating enterprise strategy into scalable, high-quality, and compliant execution.
In this role, you will provide:
Strategic Leadership & Product Ownership
- Define and execute data product strategy and roadmap aligned to enterprise priorities
- Drive data-driven transformation, automation, and analytics enablement across Finance
Data Management & Governance
- Establish and scale data governance, data quality, lineage, metadata and controls frameworks
- Set and enforce standards for data flow, access, documentation, and remediation
- Ensure adherence to risk, compliance, audit and regulatory requirements across data products
Delivery & Execution Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of data products and data initiatives with a keen focus on automation using AI tools
- Drive execution across:
- Data sourcing, mapping, lineage, and dictionary creation
- Data transformation and reporting ecosystems
- Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across global stakeholders
Stakeholder & Global Engagement
- Lead stakeholder engagement and build strong partnerships across global teams
- Increase stakeholder awareness, accountability, and engagement in data and reporting processes
India Delivery Leadership
- Act as the single point of accountability for India-based data product delivery
- Optimize capacity, productivity, and cost efficiency of India teams
- Build India as a high-performing delivery hub leveraging new age AI tools
People & Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of data product managers, analysts, and data specialists
Drive performance management, talent development, and hiring strategy
- Manage and develop two or more specialized teams of managers and professional individual contributors with a focus on delivering moderate to high complexity and risk data productization and enablement for cross-functional stakeholders and internal partners associated with the data product platforms or affected by its outcomes
- Identify opportunities and strategies for data enablement solutions that impact multiple data domains and platforms, ensuring compliance with data governance and standards
- Lead data product team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables that maximize data enablement across multiple data platforms and utilities; interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for functions with moderate to higher complexity and risk
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals including senior leadership, business, risk partners, and technical leaders within Enterprise Data Management and Technology
- Act as a catalyst to socialize capabilities, features, use case studies, and other relevant artifacts to advance the value of data enablement and productization across the enterprise
- Establish and drive a comprehensive vision and implementation strategy for data utility services and platforms that is consistent with the broader data product strategy
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in aligned department or business group
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of data product or data management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 10+years of experience in Data Management, Product Management, Analytics, or Transformation roles in financial services industry
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
- Deep expertise in:
- Data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality frameworks
- Data mapping, profiling, and enterprise data platforms
- Strong experience with tools such as:
- SQL, Informatica, Collibra, Power BI, Alteryx
- Data Reengineering and AI skills
- Proven ability to manage global stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Strong risk management, communication, and leadership skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong track record in automation, AI/analytics enablement, and productivity improvement
- Experience with enterprise finance data systems and architecture (e.g., FDLZ, MOSART, Hyperion, OLAP)
- Experience building or scaling global capability centers / India hubs
