Product Management Director

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Product Management Director – Trading & Capital Markets to lead a critical value stream within the Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Chief Product Office. This role owns end-to-end product delivery, roadmap execution, and cross-functional alignment for a complex, high-impact portfolio.

This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on product strategy, digital transformation, and AI-enabled delivery—with clear accountability for business outcomes, execution discipline, and platform modernization. This leader will drive end-to-end delivery across fixed income, equities, capital markets execution, and emerging capabilities including crypto and 24/7 trading, with direct accountability for platform modernization, roadmap execution, and business outcomes.

This is a senior product leadership role owning the Trading & Capital Markets value stream within WIM’s Investment Solutions platform portfolio. The right candidate brings deep domain knowledge in wealth management trading platforms, including hands-on experience with InvestCloud or comparable enterprise investment platforms, and knows how to translate that expertise into delivery discipline and strategic roadmap prioritization.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and delivery for the Trading & Capital Markets value stream, including BCI/Replace BondCenter, equities execution, and next-generation trading capabilities

  • Own the roadmap execution against strategic priorities including crypto and tokenization infrastructure, 24/7 trading, and WIM STP Trade capabilities

  • Cross-functional delivery across technology, operations, risk, and business partners, operating without heavy coordination layers

  • Backlog ownership, trade-off decisions, and sprint outcomes with direct accountability for delivery momentum

  • AI and automation integration into trading workflows, execution quality, and operational efficiency

  • Vendor relationship management including InvestCloud platform dependencies, with ability to credibly challenge and hold partners accountable

  • Stakeholder influence across senior business and technology leadership, including executive steering conversations

  • Lead and develop high-performing product management teams, including managers and senior individual contributors, fostering a culture of accountability and execution discipline

  • Manage the full product lifecycle, including backlog prioritization, trade-off decisions, and issue resolution to maintain delivery momentum
  • Analyze customer insights, business performance, and market trends to inform product direction, prioritization, and innovation opportunities
  • Identify and advance opportunities across pricing, distribution strategy, platform capabilities, and customer experience
  • Serve as Value Stream Delivery Leader, with accountability for roadmap execution, stakeholder alignment, and agile squad delivery
  • Lead platform modernization and digital transformation initiatives, balancing business-as-usual delivery with strategic change
  • Manage resources, workforce planning, and financials, aligning team capacity to business goals and roadmap commitments
  • Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders, executives, and cross-functional partners to drive decisions and outcomes
  • Define and implement how AI, automation, and advanced analytics enhance product delivery, operating models, and customer outcomes
  • Lead the transition to AI-enabled product management practices, scaling efficiency and improving delivery effectiveness
  • Own and deliver against long-term strategic roadmap commitments, aligned to business impact and modernization priorities
  • Strengthen product delivery maturity and operational excellence through scalable processes, talent development, and ownership-driven execution

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Product Management, Digital Product, or Product Strategy experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and scaled team
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with InvestCloud or equivalent enterprise investment management platforms
  • Proven track record owning complex delivery in regulated, matrixed financial services environments
  • Know the trading domain well enough to spot gaps vendors won’t tell you about
  • Can hold a delivery cadence under pressure without losing stakeholder trust
  • Understand how AI and automation apply to execution workflows
  • Are comfortable operating at the intersection of business strategy, technology delivery, and regulatory constraint

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading complex, enterprise-level product portfolios, preferably within financial services, capital markets, or trading environments
  • Strong track record of owning product roadmaps, delivery outcomes, and business performance metrics (e.g., revenue, adoption, efficiency)
  • Demonstrated success driving digital transformation and platform modernization initiatives
  • Experience working in Agile environments with direct ownership of backlog prioritization, sprint outcomes, and delivery trade-offs
  • Ability to operate as a value stream or portfolio leader, aligning cross-functional teams without heavy reliance on coordination layers
  • Experience partnering closely with technology, UX/design (XD), data, and risk/compliance teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Strong understanding of AI/automation capabilities and their application to product strategy, operating models, and delivery efficiency
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive decision-making in highly matrixed organizations
  • Experience managing resource allocation, budget ownership, and capacity planning across teams
