Senior Data Management Analyst

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Management Analyst to support Consumer Banking & Lending (CBL) in the governance, certification, and ongoing management of Approved Data Sources (ADS) in alignment with the Data Management Policy and Procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring data sources are properly evaluated, certified, documented, and monitored to meet enterprise governance, risk, and control requirements.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead governance activities across the Approved Data Source (ADS) lifecycle, including intake, evaluation, certification, and recertification of data sources in alignment with Data Management Policy requirements
  • Facilitate ADS certification and approval processes, including coordination with Business Data Leaders, Data Domain Executives, and the Chief Data Office to ensure required standards and approvals are obtained and recorded in enterprise tools (e.g., ADMF)
  • Drive source decisioning and ADS designation activities for Tier 1 and Tier 2 use cases, ensuring data sources are identified, evaluated, and governed as authoritative provisioning points for downstream consumption
  • Ensure adherence to ADS governance requirements, including:
    • Documentation of data source lineage from System of Record (SOR) through ADS
    • Maintenance of linkages between data elements and business glossary terms
    • Completion of required metadata artifacts (e.g., data source dictionary, dataset inventory)
  • Partner with Application Business Owners (ABOs) and Technology Managers to implement and document data movement and data quality controls between upstream sources and ADS, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness requirements are met
  • Oversee ongoing ADS compliance monitoring, including:
    • Tracking adherence to policy requirements
    • Supporting periodic reviews and recertification activities
    • Identifying and escalating non-adherence and control gaps
  • Support control evidence development and certification processes, including preparation of artifacts for Domain Executive and Business Data Leader review and sign-off
  • Drive remediation of data quality defects and governance gaps impacting ADS, ensuring issues are tracked, resolved, and aligned to risk mitigation expectations
  • Provide governance oversight for upstream asset mapping (UAM) and ensure end-to-end lineage visibility from source systems to ADS and downstream use cases
  • Act as a central point of coordination across business, technology, and governance partners to ensure consistent execution of ADS-related policy, procedures, and deliverables
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting and insights on ADS inventory, certification status, adherence, and risk posture

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Approved Data Source (ADS) governance, certification, and lifecycle management
  • Experience with Data Management Policy & Procedures implementation, including control execution and regulatory alignment
  • Familiarity with ADMF (Automated Data Management Framework) and enterprise data governance tooling
  • Knowledge of Consumer Banking & Lending products, use cases, and Risk Assessable Units (RAUs)
  • Experience supporting control evidence, audits, or regulatory deliverables
  • Ability to manage complex governance processes across multiple stakeholders (BDLs, DEs, ABOs, Tech)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate governance requirements into actionable guidance
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
