About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President, FHA Asset Management Portfolio Manager (Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management Manager) in CIB as part of our Commercial Real Estate team to support the FHA Asset Management team.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of individual contributors with low to moderate complexity and risk in Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management functional area
- Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Commercial Real Estate Portfolio functional area
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
- Direct and control strategy and execution of the credit quality and performance of a more narrow scope of the commercial real estate assets
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management functional area and team to meet business objectives
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers, as well as interact directly with external customers
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of multifamily mortgage experience, preferably in agency servicing (FHA, Fannie Mae, or Freddie Mac)
- Experience leading a team of Asset Managers, providing guidance, training, and support
- Advanced experience in permanent loan asset management, with responsibility across the full lifecycle post-construction (long-term, 30+ year horizon)
- Proven track record managing complex real estate or CRE loan portfolios, with direct ownership and accountability
- Deep expertise in HUD programs, including: HUD, 221(d)(4), 223(f) and 232 structures, Consent processing, Transfer of Physical Assets (TPA), and Physical Capital Needs Assessments (PCNA)
- Ability to search, compile, and perform analysis on critical operational data
- Ability to work independently and develop strategic recommendations to resolve novel issues and concepts encountered in loan portfolio
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask while prioritizing workflow to meet production deadlines
