Senior Tech Operations Vendor Management Manager

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Technology Operations Vendor Management Manager. 

This role is a key leadership position within the Infrastructure Operations Reliability (IOR) responsible for leading governance, risk, and performance oversight of third-party technology vendors supporting core infrastructure and operations.  You will own end-to-end vendor lifecycle management, including selection, onboarding, performance management, renewals, and offboarding. You will ensure a strong risk and control framework is in place across all vendors, aligned with regulatory, security, and operational standards. The position requires close partnership with Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Procurement teams to effectively manage vendor-related risks, including cyber, resiliency, data, and regulatory concerns. You will drive vendor performance management through SLAs, KPIs, scorecards, and issue remediation, while also leading audits, control testing, and remediation efforts tied to vendor operations. Additionally, you will manage escalations and oversee incidents involving key third parties, and build or influence teams to deliver consistent, scalable vendor governance practices across the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk in Technology Operations
  • Manage the operational outcomes of key IT services delivered by vendors, other operations teams, and product teams
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for technology operations process improvement and development
  • Leverage metrics to support infrastructure associated with applications that are highly automated, and latency sensitive, client facing and internal applications consumed by the Business
  • Drive key strategic initiatives associated with infrastructure availability
  • Work with IT risk management, compliance and all lines of defense, including Audit, to ensure platform risks are proactively managed
  • Institute controls in partnership with Operation Risks to ensure risk management is sustainable
  • Manage the costs, demand and resource capacity for the team resources, leveraging external resources as needed
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of technology operations team to meet deliverable
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology operations
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Technology Operations experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years in vendor management / third-party governance roles
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 2+ years in a direct management role


Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in IT Service Delivery, Desk Side Support or Field Technology operations
  • Strong understanding of the Wells Fargo supply chain process 
  • Familiarity with the Technology contract and financial approval process
  • Demonstrated leadership in large-scale, multi-site support environments (Service Desk + Field Tech)
  • Experience managing hybrid workforce models (FTE + vendor + contractors)
  • Understanding of IT control frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to: Design and implement operational controls, governance models and translate regulatory requirements into Service Desk workflows and SOPs
  • Experience leading audit readiness, evidence collection, and control validation
