Wells Fargo is seeking a Institutional Investment Operations Senior Manager


In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity

  • Engage and influence peers, stakeholders, internal partners, external clients affected by its outcome

  • Support the lifecycle of Institutional trades while managing a larger group or multiple groups covering the following functions; client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as, work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issues

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

  • Collaborate with all business partners and various departments, create efficiencies and mitigate risk for team and organization

  • Resolve complex issues and processes within Institutional Investment Operations

  • Determine appropriate strategy to meet moderate to high risk deliverables

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility

  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers

  • Lead team to achieve objectives and strategy

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Institutional Investment Operations group

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Responsibilities to include:

  • Support the lifecycle of Institutional trades while managing a larger group or multiple groups covering the following functions;  
    • Trade Capture, Trade management activities such as Allocations , Affirmations, Trade amendments into risk systems, T0 Blotter checks.
    • Trade Profit & Loss daily flash & attribution.
    • Live Trade monitoring and Exception resolution. Example :  Blotter monitoring, FINRA live queue monitoring, PB Give ups  queue  monitoring
    • Regulatory exceptions (Dodd Frank, Mandatory clearing , TRACE)
    • Trade validations, Recap checks, monitoring trade amendments in approval queue
    • Reconciliations ( FOBO, CCP, Listed, Internals
    • Start of day Risk Monitoring and exception management( Risk Factor sensitivity),
    • FX Confirms, Settlement and International business exposure
  • Experience in FX Trade Lifecycle which includes Settlements and claims 
  • Experience in Prime Services, client management and international operations dealing in equities, fixed income and prime brokerage 
  • should have knowledge of F2B operations of post trade life cycle including trade services, client recons, intercompany and settlements
  • Demonstrate good understanding of financial products & middle office controls.

  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives and operations of functional area and team to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity
  • Manage and develop team of individual contributors and managers working on complex issues
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives and strategy
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Institutional Investment Operations group
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
  • Ability to accurately process high volumes of work within established deadlines
  • Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areas, foster team work

Essential Qualifications

  • University degree/Post graduation in Business /Accounts/Economics/Stats.
  • ~ 15-18  years of experience in the Investment Banking Operations
  • Strong expertise of Capital market Products, Functional understanding and working knowledge of Confirms and Settlements along with Middle Office
  • Good understanding Risk Management, RSCA and P&L
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and time constraints
  • Strong communication skills
  • People management experience of +15 years

Desired Qualifications

  • Experiences should include familiarity with Investment industry and practices in the Financial Services industry as well as operational delivery experience
  • Analytic thinker who likes to solve problems with strong attention to detail
  • Analyst should have strong numerical and analytical skills, strong articulation and out of box thinking.
  • Good problem solving, analytical and numerical skills
