Wells Fargo is seeking a role in Lead Analytics Consultant
In this role, you will:
- Advise line of business and companywide functions on business strategies based on research of performance metrics, trends in population distributions, and other complex data analysis to maximize profits and asset growth, and minimize operating losses within risk and other operating standards
- Provide influence and leadership in the identification of new tools and methods to analyze data
- Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed
- Provide updates on project logs, monthly budget forecasts, monthly newsletters, and operations reviews
- Assist managers in building quarterly and annual plans and forecast future market research needs for business partners supported
- Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor to staff, interns and external contractors
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data analysis, or related disciplines.
- Strong experience in Risk Management, Consumer Lending, and data-driven business decision support.
- Experience working with large datasets, developing analytical insights, and translating complex findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead analytical initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- Strong understanding of reporting governance, data quality management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience collaborating with business, risk, operations, technology, and compliance partners in a highly regulated environment.
- Advanced proficiency in analytical and reporting tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or similar technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience in Consumer Bureau Management and Credit Bureau Reporting is highly preferred and considered a plus.
- Prior experience mentoring team members, leading projects, and driving process improvement initiatives is desirable.
- Support the Consumer Bureau Management Analytics team by leading and delivering Credit Bureau reporting analytics, monitoring reporting performance and data quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing actionable insights to support business, risk, and operational decision-making
Job Expectations:
- 6+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of Analytics, Reporting and ETL
5+ years of experience in writing complex SQL queries or PROC SQL queries
5+ years of experience in working on querying databases, ETL packages, and data reporting.
Experience with integrated development environment like oracle SQL Developer, SSMS, and Visual Studio etc.
5+ years of experience with enterprise level SQL
Technical competency of SSIS, SAS, Hadoop/HIVE, Tableau or PowerBI
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Understanding and Application of AI Tools: Ability to leverage AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Tachyon, Agent space) for routine tasks such as summarizing information, drafting content, and analyzing data, while maintaining human oversight.
Critical Thinking: Ability to interpret AI outputs, validate insights, and make informed business decisions.
Responsible AI Use: Awareness of ethical considerations, data privacy, and compliance when using AI solutions.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Commitment to upskilling and staying current with emerging technologies.
Manage planning, coordinating, and executing data research projects or results oriented intelligence that supports line of business or companywide business objectives
Identify and recommend strategies for developing and utilizing technical to enable initiatives that predict, improve, support, and measure business success
Ensure adherence to data management and data governance regulations, and policies and compliance requirements
Work with internal teams to define issues and information needs and translate them into specific data and technical requirements to support business initiatives and projects
Maintain an understanding of how multiple enterprise and business level applications work together to drive business processes.
Take technical lead on multiple lines of business requested reporting and data integration projects and navigate those projects through the standard product development lifecycle.
Work directly with business partners to gain a deep understanding of all technical requests and confirm functional requirements are accurate and that all projects meet customer expectations.
Deliver large scale report migrations from legacy technical state (SSIS & SAS/SQL) to target state (Hadoop/Hive.)
Maintain legacy SSIS integrations until deprecated in target state.
