About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Market Risk Officer within Market & Counterparty Risk Management (MCRM) to support the MCRM Infrastructure Strategy (MCRM IS) team. MCRM IS is responsible for implementing the technology infrastructure for traded products, covering regulatory capital, providing risk oversight across a broad range of mark-to-market exposures, including fixed income, equities, commodities, foreign exchange, traded credit, and securitized products. The team partners closely with Corporate & Investment Banking, Risk Analytics, Technology, Finance, and Independent Risk Management to develop and enhance stress testing methodologies, assess and challenge risk outcomes, strengthen risk measurement frameworks, and support regulatory capital initiatives. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure for counterparty capital risk activities
  • Act as the Product Owner for all technology changes for counterparty capital
  • Plan deliverables for technology release cycles for counterparty capital
  • Act as key participant in analytical techniques to solve complex financial problems for counterparty risk capital
  • Provide technical experience and provide coaching to less experienced consultants
  • Conduct quantitative impact assessments, interpret regulatory requirements, and support key counterparty risk capital deliverables.
  • Partner with Risk Analytics, Technology, Treasury, and Market Risk teams to ensure counterparty capital calculations are accurate, validated, reconciled, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives focused on enhancing counterparty risk capital frameworks, methodologies, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to broader market and counterparty risk activities, including senior management reporting, CCAR, regulatory examinations, and other risk and capital-related deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in counterparty risk management and regulatory capital frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Basel 3 regulatory capital, and proposed changes to the regulations (Basel 3 Endgame).
  • Strong understanding of derivatives, securities financing transactions, counterparty credit risk, and Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA).
  • Experience working within strategic project management and large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency with VBA, SQL, and/or other programming or scripting languages.
