About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Business Systems Senior Manager to serve as the Technology Observability Policy Owner within Enterprise Technology. This role is accountable for defining, governing, and driving execution of the enterprise-wide Observability, including policy, standards, controls, and oversight. The individual will lead a team responsible for Observability governance and partner with Technology, Risk, Finance, and Architecture to establish a unified, enterprise-wide Observability management capability addressing current gaps in policy, controls, Issue management and drive corrective actions. This role will also drive continual improvement and innovation of service management process
Manage and develop teams of specialists and managers to oversee moderate to highly complex activities associated with the development and implementation of business-specific programs, processes, and controls which identify, assess, monitor, measure, and mitigate risk. Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, risk mitigation, and control strategies. Determine appropriate strategies and actions, interpret and develop policies and procedures, and provide leadership to strategize and execute a variety of programs, services, initiatives, protocols, and deliverables that are moderate to high-risk within scope of responsibility. Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals including senior managers. Engage and influence business heads, regulators, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk. Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
In this role, you will:
Policy Ownership & Governance
Serve as the enterprise policy owner for Technology Observability Management, including policy, standards, and procedures lifecycle management
Define and maintain a technology-wide Observability management framework, including governance structures, roles, and accountabilities
Risk, Controls & Regulatory Alignment
Act as the primary point of contact for Observability-related regulatory exams, audits, and risk assessments
Partner with Independent Risk Management to align with COBIT, FFIEC, ITIL frameworks
Observability Strategy & Execution
Lead development of a standardized enterprise Observability planning process
Define and implement Observability monitoring, thresholds, and performance KPIs/KRIs
Data, Insights & Reporting
Establish enterprise Observability dashboards and executive reporting frameworks
Analyze trends in utilization, growth, and risk exposure
Deliver clear, executive-level messaging to senior leadership and regulators
Enable transparency and decision-making through data-driven insights
Stakeholder Leadership & Influence
Lead cross-functional governance forums across Technology, Infrastructure, Product, and Risk teams
Influence investment decisions, prioritization, and risk mitigation strategies
Drive organizational alignment from federated to integrated Observability practices
Organizational Leadership
Build and scale an enterprise capability for Observability management governance
Drive clarity in roles, responsibilities, and operating model across the enterprise
Champion a culture of risk awareness, ownership, and continuous improvement
Lead change management to support adoption of new policies, processes, and tools
Execution & Delivery Leadership
Translate strategy into actionable roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
3+ years of management or leadership experience
7+ years of experience in technology infrastructure, Observability management, risk, or enterprise operations
5+ years of experience in policy ownership, governance, or control framework design
5+ years of experience in risk management, audit, or regulatory engagement
3+ years of experience with ServiceNow ITSM and related technology platforms
Desired Qualifications
Deep knowledge of enterprise frameworks (COBIT, FFIEC, ITIL)
Proven experience building teams and capabilities from the ground up
Strong understanding of Observability planning, performance engineering, and infrastructure scalability
Experience implementing observability, predictive analytics, and automation in operations
Exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts to executive audiences
