About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst


In this role, you will:

  • Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
  • Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
  • Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
  • Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
  • Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
  • Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • +5 years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Lifecycle Management.
  • Strong expertise in Data Management policies, standards, procedures, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Good understanding of industry best practices, including data governance operating models, risk management, compliance requirements, and data stewardship.
  • Proven experience supporting and leading data management and governance initiatives across multiple business functions.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality management, data lineage, metadata management, master data management (MDM), and governance controls.
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, analytics, and process optimization tools such as Alteryx, Power Platform, Python, Power BI, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, tracking, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into practical data management solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence business partners and leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop executive-ready presentations, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting materials that effectively communicate governance and business outcomes.
  • Experience driving process improvements and operational excellence through automation and standardization initiatives.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

  • Own and drive Data Management and Data Governance initiatives to ensure successful delivery of business objectives, governance requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Apply and promote Data Management policies, standards, procedures, and governance controls, ensuring consistent adoption across supported business areas.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and collaboration across business, operations, and technology teams to drive alignment, issue resolution, and successful outcomes.
  • Drive AI, automation, and process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Manage projects and deliverables effectively, including planning, execution, risk management, dependency tracking, status reporting, and timely delivery.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance compliance through monitoring, controls, assessments, issue identification, and remediation activities.
  • Develop executive-ready reporting, dashboards, and presentations, providing clear insights on governance performance, risks, KPIs, and business impact.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, translating complex data management concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, promoting accountability, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive key performance metrics and operational excellence, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen governance maturity, improve processes, and deliver measurable business value.
