Senior Lead Enterprise Risk Officer

About this role:

The Digital, Data & AI Chief Risk Office (DDAI CRO) team provides oversight across 16 RAUs (Risk Assessable Units) supporting customer-facing digital capabilities, AI and model development, and consumer data products and governance. DDAI also develops a significant portion of the AI solutions supporting Consumer Banking and Lending growth and efficiency objectives, creating a growing portfolio of complex and evolving risks. This role requires the technical acumen and risk management experience to evaluate data and technology dependencies, identify emerging risks, and provide effective challenge across AI, data, and digital initiatives. 

In this role you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence enterprise risk, governance, reporting programs, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business corporate governance risk programs and technical needs across multiple front lines with high risk for Enterprise Risk

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges for governance and reporting programs companywide

  • Deliver solutions that are long term, large scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others

  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to more experienced leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that are large-scale cross functional or companywide strategies

  • Lead projects and mentor virtual teams, design, develop and deliver training

  • Guide and direct the organization in terms of policies, effectiveness of companywide initiative execution, and reporting to the Board

  • Engage and strategize with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

  • Partner with managers to deliver risk reporting to executive management, committees, and Board of Directors and assists in development of actionable insights

  • Maintain internal partnership with the business and other business units, Audit, Legal, regulators, and industry partners on risk related topics

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Risk Management experience (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in operational or technology risk management, operational or technology audit, digital product management, data governance, model risk management, or related disciplines.

  • Experience partnering with product or technology teams to challenge complex decisions and influence risk outcomes.

  • Demonstrated curiosity and ability to quickly learn emerging technologies, AI trends, and evolving risk landscapes.

  • Experience assessing and challenging risks associated with one or more of the following domains:  digital capabilities,  technology platforms, AI/model development, data governance and data products

  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging risks and perform risk assessments in complex and evolving business and technology environments.

  • Strong communication including the ability to engage credibly with both business and technical stakeholders.

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to work at one of the approved locations in the job posting

  • Willingness to comply with our hybrid work model; working from a Wells Fargo facility at least four days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$159,000.00 - $279,000.00
