About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.

In this role, you will:

  • Involve in end-to-end lifecycle of product/application development, analyse highly complex business requirements, design and write technical specifications to build or modernize enterprise applications.
  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and highly available full-stack applications using modern architectures and cloud-native technologies.
  • Provide coding direction to less experienced staff and develop highly complex original code.
  • Act as an expert technical resource for modelling, simulation, analytics, and AI-driven automation initiatives.
  • Design and implement AI-powered features such as intelligent search, chatbot integrations, recommendation engines, knowledge assistants, and automated issue triaging.
  • Leverage Generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot) to improve engineering productivity and development efficiency.
  • Build AI-assisted workflows for vulnerability analysis, incident management, operational intelligence, and application support processes.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven services, and AI services into enterprise applications.
  • Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing, and debugging of programs.
  • Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and AI-driven operational insights across applications.
  • Ensure applications adhere to Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL), Responsible AI principles, security, compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Lead projects, allocate and manage resources, and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Drive DevOps and MLOps practices for application deployment, AI model integration, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Support vulnerability management platforms and develop automation to improve security operations efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Core Development Skills
  • 5+ years of application design, development, and implementation experience.
  • 5+ years of Java and/or .NET development experience.
  • 5+ years of Angular, React, JavaScript, and modern web application development.
  • 5+ years of creating and/or integrating RESTful/SOAP web services.
  • 3+ years of experience with Unix/Linux, Autosys, JavaScript, MVC, C#, SDL Tridion, and DXA.
  • 3+ years of RDBMS integration and development (SQL Server, Oracle) and Spring Boot with JPA/Hibernate.
  • Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, and responsive web design.
  • Experience with Node.js is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/Generative AI services into enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Services, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or similar AI platforms.
  • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search concepts.
  • Experience building AI-powered assistants, chatbots, automated knowledge retrieval systems, or intelligent operational dashboards.
  • Experience consuming AI APIs and integrating AI capabilities into web applications and backend services.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development practices, and developer productivity tools.
  • Exposure to AI governance, Responsible AI principles, security, compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience leveraging AI for vulnerability analysis, incident summarization, automated ticket classification, root cause analysis, or operational intelligence is highly desirable.
  • Cloud, DevOps & Security
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Gradle, SonarQube, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Git and modern source control practices.
  • Strong understanding of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC/SDL).
  • Experience with application security, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with security scanning tools, SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Data and Analytics
  • Strong SQL skills and experience designing scalable database solutions.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, reporting, and visualization solutions.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, AI search technologies, and enterprise data integration is a plus.

Job Expectations:

  • Experience developing AI-enabled enterprise applications at scale.
  • Strong exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps, and MLOps practices.
  • Development experience with multi-tier enterprise applications and microservices architecture.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications and AI-integrated solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with architects, engineering leaders, and senior management.
  • Experience working in Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, Risk Management, or Stability Operations environments.
  • Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, Security Engineer, or related certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as App Insights, ELK, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog is preferred.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and JIRA for project tracking.
