About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Institutional Investment Operations Specialist.


In this role, you will:

  • Participate in lifecycle support tasks for institutional trade initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements

  • Assist leadership in bringing individual or teams together in order to resolve complex issues

  • Assist in client account onboarding, input and monitoring of cash payments, customer service, project support, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issue

  • Provide subject matter expertise on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives

  • Review and analyze functional operational tasks that require research, evaluation, and exercise independent judgment to guide the deliverable

  • Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Client Onboarding (2 year), Client Lifecycle Management (2 year) and Corporate & Investment Banking (2 year).

  • Strong knowledge of Markets products and trade lifecycle processes, including Securities, Fixed Income, Equities, FX, Futures, Derivatives, and related post-trade activities.

  • Comprehensive understanding of onboarding and regulatory requirements, including KYC, CDD, EDD, AML, Tax Documentation, ISDA, SSI setup, and regulatory due diligence processes.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FINRA, Dodd-Frank, Qualified Financial Contracts (QFC), and other applicable banking regulations.

  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze legal agreements, regulatory requirements, client documentation, and complex operational processes.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and managing deliverables across multiple teams and business functions.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify risks, evaluate controls, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with experience using reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau and industry platforms including Markit and DTCC/ALERT.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes and build effective working relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Bachelor’s / master's degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.

Job Expectations:

  • Serve as the primary case manager for end-to-end client onboarding activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery throughout the onboarding lifecycle.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a seamless onboarding experience while meeting client, business, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate across Front Office, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Credit, Documentation, Collateral, and Client Account teams to ensure all prerequisites are completed prior to trading commencement.

  • Execute onboarding activities with a strong focus on risk management, control adherence, data quality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Drive operational excellence by identifying process enhancements, automation opportunities, and control improvements that enhance client experience and efficiency.

  • Support business growth initiatives by providing subject matter expertise on onboarding requirements, regulatory developments, and industry changes.

  • Lead or contribute to strategic transformation initiatives, partnering with Technology and key stakeholders to deliver sustainable process improvements.

  • Prepare management reporting, analyze metrics, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions and performance management.

  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, responsiveness, and stakeholder engagement.
