Senior Software Engineer - Ab Initio Administrator

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. experienced Ab Initio Administrator to manage, support, and maintain the EDAMH, EDQE and AIDP platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, security management, environment support, and ensuring high availability of Ab Initio infrastructure across development, testing, and production environments.


In this role, you will:

  • Platform Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Ab Initio components for AIDP, EDAMH and EDQE application including:
  • Co>Operating System (Co-Op)
  • Enterprise Meta>Environment (EME)
  • Metadata Hub
  • Conduct>It
  • Express<It
  • Continuous Flows
  • Manage and maintain Ab Initio and AIDP environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
  • Support platform migration and version upgrade
  • Manage Ab Initio environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
  • Configure and maintain Ab Initio sandboxes, projects, repositories, and user access controls.
  • Perform capacity planning and platform health monitoring.
  • Infrastructure & Environment Management:
  • Administer Linux/Unix servers supporting Ab Initio environments.
  • Manage platform migrations, server refreshes, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, network, storage, and database teams.
  • Monitor system utilization, disk space, memory, and CPU performance.
  • Performance & Optimization
  • Analyze and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks within Ab Initio environments.
  • Tune Co>Operating System configurations for optimal throughput.
  • Optimize resource allocation and scheduling across multiple environments.
  • Proactively identify and resolve platform stability concerns.
  • Security & Compliance: Administer LDAP/Active Directory integration and user provisioning.
  • Implement role-based security and access controls.
  • Support audit, compliance, and vulnerability remediation activities.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise security and platform governance standards.
  • Release & Deployment Management: Support code migrations and release deployments.
  • Develop deployment automation and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful application releases.
  • Maintain deployment documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Automation & Continuous Improvement: Develop shell scripts and automation solutions for operational activities.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and platform management processes.
  • Standardize administration procedures and operational best practices.
  • Drive platform modernization and operational efficiencies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7-9 years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Ab Initio platform administration.
  • Strong experience administering: Ab Initio Co>Operating System, EME, Conduct>IT, GDE, Metadata Hub.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration experience.
  • Experience with shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, Python preferred).
  • Knowledge of enterprise job schedulers such as Autosys, Control-M, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical data platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as OCP, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of database technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Teradata.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Exposure to Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Big Data ecosystems.
