About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
  • Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
  • Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
  • Drive solutions to reduce recovery
  • Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Design complex system upgrades
  • Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
  • Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience working with Axway Secure Transport software
  • 4+ years’ experience working with IBM Secure File Gateway software
  • 3+ years of Network Data Mover (NDM) experience
  • 3+ years of scripting knowledge experience using Python or Shell scripting.
  • 1 + year of Regular Expression (regex) experience 
  • 1 + years of risk identification and documentation experience
  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change
  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
  • Experience in problem analysis, solution implementation, and change management
  • API programming experience with Perl, XML, REST or JSON
  • Experience with IBM Sterling Secure Proxy application
  • Knowledge in supporting Weblogic/Websphere application servers, Apache httpd and F5 Load Balancers or Appviewx
  • Good to have exposure in monitoring tools like Appdynamics or Sitescope or any other tools
  • Good to have knowledge on Techrefresh activities or NAS infrastructure
  • Good to have networking basics and firewall checks between components and servers
  • Good to have database related queries and knowledge
  • Good to have knowledge on deployment tools like Udeploy for application deployment
  • Knowledge on Venafi or any certificate management tool
  • Good to have knowledge on log monitoring tools like Splunk


Job Expectations:

  • Create or update documentation related to the activity performed (design document, maintenance procedure, troubleshooting document, etc.). Hands-on involvement in architecting, designing, developing, and deploying a highly efficient, scalable, high performance MFT platform.  
  • Leads and/or performs analysis efforts.  
  • Follow change and problem management policies.  
  • As an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems, including carrying an on call pager in a team rotation, which may require non-standard hours occasionally.  
  • Manages projects and work-related tasks, including migration of applications to production.  
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.  
  • Performs various application software installations, configuration changes and configure plug-in software. Monitors system performance and capacity as well as identify and detect potential issues with system related configurations that might have potential impact on the application environment.
  • Assures change accuracy by performing adequate testing and leveraging automation where possible. Develops and deploys automation to help with deployment efforts, monitoring, and on-going application and system maintenance.
  • Regularly uses workflow tools such as Jira to track on-going efforts. Works collaboratively with other team members to aid in the completion of tasks, especially those scoped out during regular SCRUM and Sprint Planning sessions.
  • Troubleshoots problems and takes appropriate corrective action and or interacts with other teams within Wells Fargo, the development team, other Technology teams or external vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions.  
  • Drive automation for validation and other initiatives in File transfer services space.
