About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Product & Valuation Control Analyst - SAVP


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives related to daily profit and loss production, attribution, and commentary for trading and banking desks
  • Review and analyze valuation inputs, trade data, and reconciliation breaks to ensure accurate financial reporting and control
  • Oversee independent price verification and fair value adjustments in collaboration with Risk and Valuation Control
  • Perform daily and monthly balance sheet substantiation and ensure trade booking accuracy
  • Independently resolve moderately complex valuation and reconciliation issues and contribute to control framework enhancements
  • Provide financial insight into profitability, risk-adjusted returns, and capital usage to support business decisions
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers across Finance, Risk, and Front Office to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Identify and implement process improvements in reporting accuracy, control automation, and data governance and support regulatory reporting processes (e.g., Volcker, etc.) and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Lead projects, mentor less experienced analysts, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives within the product and valuation control function
  • Expand understanding of systems and data flows across Front Office, Risk, and Finance to provide recommendations to fix issues at source


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of product and valuation control experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • CA/CFA/FRM or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • Strong experience in Product Control, reporting, finance, or accounting, or a closely related control function at a large bank.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across teams and communicate issues, analysis, and outcomes clearly.
  • Deep understanding of Derivative Products and risk measures, with experience supporting Trading businesses.
  • Experience in strategic process improvement and change management.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to drive team performance and stakeholder engagement.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, agility, and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access), SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI.


Job Expectations:

  • Provide financial insight into profitability, risk-adjusted returns, and capital usage to support business decisions
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers across Finance, Risk, and Front Office to resolve issues and achieve goal
  • Identify and implement process improvements in reporting accuracy, control automation, and data governance and support regulatory reporting processes (e.g., Volcker, FRTB) and maintain audit-ready documentation May lead projects, mentor junior analysts, or coordinate cross-functional initiatives within the product control function
  • Gain expertise in understanding of systems and data flows across Front Office, Risk, and Finance to provide recommendations to fix issues at source
