About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives, and delivering insight and decision strategies within analytics and reporting, and contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics
  • Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and programming models
  • Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation in alignment with policy governance
  • Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies, procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers, compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals
  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor less experienced staff
  • Partner with cross enterprise risk analysts in development of common modeling strategies


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of consumer credit products, including Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Mortgages, and Small Business Lending, with knowledge of the corresponding credit lifecycle.
  • Experience in credit risk strategy development/implementation, validation, monitoring, and testing, with the ability to assess strategy effectiveness and identify emerging risks.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAS and SQL programming, with hands-on experience working with large-scale databases such as Teradata and Oracle for data extraction, analysis, and validation.
  • Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Unix environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI technologies/tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex risk and portfolio insights to senior stakeholders and business partners.


Job Expectations:

  • Provide independent review and challenge of consumer credit decision strategies, including assessment of strategy frameworks, validation of business rules against production, and identification of potential risks, control gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Own and execute data sampling for review process, using targeted and random sampling methodologies, data validation, quality checks, control execution, and timely delivery of samples for review activities.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and oversight of consumer credit portfolios by analysing risk, performance, and deliver actionable insights to support business growth, optimize portfolio performance, and mitigate credit risk.
