Lead Business Execution Consultant – Sales Planning & Strategic Initiatives

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant to join the Sales Planning & Coverage team within Sales Planning & Enablement organization. This role will serve as a lead project and initiative owner responsible for driving strategic business initiatives that support sales performance, banker productivity, coverage strategy, business planning, and organizational priorities across Wells Fargo Business Banking.

The role will act as a key liaison across multiple functions, leading complex projects from planning through execution while ensuring alignment, accountability, risk management, and adoption. The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen, strategic thinking, project leadership, and executive communication skills to help deliver critical business outcomes.

This role supports enterprise capabilities related to sales planning, coverage strategy, reporting, forecasting, performance management, and business insights.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead large-scale strategic initiatives and business programs from concept through implementation.
  • Develop project plans, governance structures, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics for high-priority business initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams consisting of sales, enablement, operations, analytics, risk, technology, and product partners.
  • Drive initiative execution by facilitating decision-making, monitoring progress, escalating risks, and ensuring accountability.
  • Partner with leaders to assess business opportunities, identify execution implications, and develop implementation strategies.
  • Create executive-level presentations, recommendations, status reporting, and business reviews.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable work plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance organizational effectiveness and business performance.
  • Support annual planning, sales coverage strategies, business forecasting, and performance management initiatives.
  • Lead readiness, communication, and stakeholder engagement efforts for major organizational and business initiatives.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide working sessions, steering committees, and governance forums.
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple levels without direct management authority.
  • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives
  • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
  • Review strategic approaches and effectiveness of support function and business performance
  • Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations
  • Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans
  • Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives
  • Influence, guide and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading enterprise‑level, cross‑functional initiatives within a large financial services organization, preferably supporting Business Banking, Consumer Lending, or related commercial products.
  • Strong background in execution governance and performance management, including OKRs, roadmaps, executive reporting, and senior‑leader presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, manage, and escalate risks and dependencies, with experience partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Control functions.
  • Experience driving strategic alignment and integration across multiple business segments, ensuring priorities are embedded in broader enterprise initiatives and operating cadences.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and influence skills, with a track record of leading through complexity, ambiguity, and matrixed environments.
  • Business Banking experience, with strong understanding of small and mid‑size business client needs, lending products, sales practices, and operating models, and the ability to translate those insights into effective enterprise execution and prioritization.
