Consumer Banking & Lending (CBL):


Consumer Banking & Lending (CBL) provides financial services to consumer banking, consumer lending, and small business customers through over 4,300 retail bank branches and more than 11,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia, as well as through 20 customer service centers. CBL is focused on continuously improving our customer satisfaction, by simplifying our products, pricing and processes and targeted innovation at scale.


The Role:

This is a rare opportunity to lead Wells Fargo's New York Expansion Market and help shape the future of our branch network in one of the country's most important banking markets.


While currently comprising 25 de novo branches serving customers with approximately $1.3 billion in deposits and $2.1 billion in investment assets, the market represents a significant long-term growth opportunity for the company.


The Branch Banking Regional Executive will drive growth, develop talent, strengthen community presence, and help lead the continued expansion of Wells Fargo's franchise across New York.

The successful candidate must have proven experience leading Senior executives and teams to provide exceptional customer service to retain, grow and deepen relationships in all retail customer segments. The Branch Banking Regional Executive will be responsible for providing strategic business leadership and guidance with respect to profit and revenue plans within the overall region and each market. This leader will also have demonstrated the ability to balance risk with growth, successful management of a P&L with responsibility for balance sheet growth, revenue growth, productivity and efficiency. Other key responsibilities include the budgeting process and asset management for the region and providing a leadership role in representing Wells Fargo in the communities and markets served with various leaders and elected officials. The candidate will also ensure that all elements of risk management and compliance accountability are followed. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of the consumer, small business, and affluent businesses within the region with the focus on delivering service, advice, and guidance to improve the financial lives of our customers
  • Lead the region in the execution of our business strategies that enable our customer experience and growth priorities
  • Develop partnerships and influence key stakeholders to execute Branch Banking strategies and activities that lead to growth in consumer, affluent, and small business banking segments
  • Promote a culture that fosters inclusion, engagement and motivates teams to achieve business outcomes
  • Develop and execute talent and workforce strategies in alignment with evolving customer expectations and needs
  • Implement and maintain risk and security controls, and adhere to compliance accountability within the framework of Wells Fargo standards, policies, and procedures
  • Represent Wells Fargo and Branch Banking in all aspects of federal, state, and community leadership and development within markets
  • Partner with leaders across lines of businesses on market activation plans leveraging a One Wells Fargo approach

The Candidate:

This candidate must be an exceptional leader in terms of character, competency and commitment. The leader must have a track record of having established or grown a business in a responsible way. The leader is able to translate a strategy into execution, attract and retain the talent required, build an engaged organization, grow customer satisfaction and be able to work effectively across many functions, groups and lines of defense.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 6+ years management experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven executive leadership experience managing a large, start-up, multi-site retail banking business with accountability for growth, customer experience, operations, risk, and talent.
  • Demonstrated success opening De Novo branches, entering new markets, launching start-up operations, or scaling a comparable growth business.
  • Extensive experience leading complex, cross-functional programs from strategy and business-case development through implementation and sustained performance.
  • Strong record of building and executing recruiting, workforce-planning, succession, and leadership-development strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, coach, and retain high-performing field leaders, managers of managers, and individual contributors for branch teams.
  • Proven success delivering sustained deposit, customer, relationship, and revenue growth through disciplined and customer-focused sales management.
  • Strong business-development capabilities, including local-market strategy, community engagement, partnership development, and customer acquisition.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder-management skills, with demonstrated success influencing across multiple business and support functions.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, including performance measurement, business-case management, forecasting, resource allocation, and continuous process improvement.


Job Expectations:

  • 50-75% travel required

This role is open to all CBL approved locations in New York City.


Pay Range
 


Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
