About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Lead Business Execution Consultant to join the Business Solutions & Enablement team, supporting the delivery of strategic payments and liquidity change across EMEA.
The role will initially focus on Wells Fargo Bank International’s TARGET2 programme, euro clearing, liquidity and foundational payments capabilities, alongside broader EMEA payments initiatives.
Combining programme management, business analysis and implementation expertise, you will work across Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL), Technology, Operations and Control teams to deliver complex, cross-functional change.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the delivery of EMEA payments and liquidity initiatives, managing scope, milestones, plans, resources and dependencies across multiple teams and partners.
- Coordinate TARGET2 and operating-model changes across euro settlement, direct clearing and intermediary arrangements, including dependencies relating to liquidity pooling, foreign exchange settlement, nostro consolidation, securities settlement and derivatives margining.
- Support the delivery of liquidity and working-capital capabilities, domestic and cross-border payments, origination and reporting channels, and internal and affiliate euro clearing.
- Assess proposed and final regulatory requirements in partnership with subject-matter experts, determining CIB and regional applicability, impacts, gaps and required actions.
- Define business and regulatory requirements, acceptance criteria and readiness measures across processes, systems, data, clients, accounting, reconciliation, financial crime, reporting and controls.
- Lead cross-functional working groups involving Compliance, Legal, Risk, Control, Finance and process owners, ensuring clear ownership of deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and approvals.
- Coordinate pre-implementation, integration, user acceptance, end-to-end, regression and production testing, supporting migration, cutover, go/no-go decisions, contingency planning, enhanced monitoring and transition to business as usual.
- Apply strong business and product knowledge to root-cause analysis and decision-making, driving accountability, reducing delivery and operational risk, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Influence senior stakeholders across functions and regions, provide guidance to less experienced colleagues, and present regulatory and strategic change at senior forums to align priorities, decisions and resources.
- Use Microsoft Office, artificial intelligence (AI) and workflow tools to support assessments, planning and reporting across progress, decisions, risks, dependencies, financials and client and operational impacts.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in Business Execution, implementation, strategic planning, programme/project management or business analysis gained through a combination of work experience, education or equivalent regulatory change experience.
- Experience delivering payments, cash management, liquidity or treasury change within a global bank or financial institution.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional change across multiple workstreams, regions and time zones, ideally within Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Payments & Liquidity or Commercial Banking.
- End-to-end change delivery experience spanning initiation, scope definition, requirements, planning, testing, readiness, migration, implementation and stabilisation, with effective traceability through evidence, acceptance and sign-off.
- Experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements and analysing complex compliance, business and operational issues to identify appropriate solutions.
- Experience managing risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, decisions, approvals and change control within complex programmes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues, risks and solutions clearly to colleagues and senior management.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of TARGET2, high-value payments and central-bank settlement, including euro clearing, correspondent banking, nostro accounts, liquidity pooling, cash positions and intraday liquidity.
- Knowledge of domestic, regional and cross-border payment mechanisms, including SWIFT, ISO 20022, wire payments, BACS, SEPA, instant payments and other UK payment schemes.
- Experience with EMEA payment migrations, legacy-platform retirement, core banking or digital integration, and operating-model change.
- Experience managing cross-border dependencies and relationships with third parties, correspondent banks and vendors.
- Knowledge of sanctions screening, anti-money laundering controls, the Payment Services Directive and operational resilience requirements, including migration impacts across accounting, reconciliation, billing, customer reporting and data.
- Experience with Wells Fargo Enterprise Change Management and working with Global Payments & Liquidity Product, Technology and International Payment Operations teams.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies and associated delivery tools.
- Relevant qualifications in project management, Agile delivery, service management, process improvement or treasury are desirable.
Job Expectations:
- Ability to meet London hybrid-working and applicable business-area requirements.
- Flexibility to support EMEA, US and Asia stakeholders, including occasional out-of-hours coordination for critical implementations.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge constructively and maintain appropriate delivery and control standards.
- Employment is subject to applicable right-to-work, screening and company requirements.
- Responsibilities may evolve in line with approved scope, organisational design and business priorities.
