About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer -Platform Management Center of Excellence, within Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) focuses on scaled horizontal enterprise solutions that are stable, secure, and always on. EFT Center of Excellence is seeking a Senior Full Stack Development Engineer to work closely with peer custom developers, site reliability, data and automation engineers within EFT supporting multiple technology divisions. We believe that "Hope is not a Strategy" and we solve operational issues through code.

    In this role, you will:

    • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
    • Act as a key participant in developing engineering standards and companywide best practices for driving adoption and adherence across large scale technology solutions and engineering disciplines
    • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
    • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
    • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
    • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
    • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 5+ Years of Software Development: Java, Python, React, Angular
    • Relational Database: SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Data Modelling, Algorithms
    • OS and Platform - Azure, GCP, Lamda, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, Windows, and VMware
    • CI/CD and Automation: Jenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Artifactory, Ansible, Puppet, and Apigee
    • Ability to work in a hybrid office environment
    • Ability to travel 5% each year
    • Ability to work outside of regular business hours, as needed
    • 2+ years of scripting and automation experience
    • 2+ years of experience with logging, monitoring, and event detection on cloud or distributed platforms
    • 2+ years of experience with one or more Technology Platforms (Cloud, o/s, etc.): OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Linux, VMware
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience presenting to leadership.
    • 1+ years working with configuration, CI/CD and automation such Ansible, Jenkins, Gitlab, Artifactory
    • 2+ years of Unix or Linux administration experience
    • 1+ years of design, implementation and governance experience with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning architecture
    • Understanding of modern software design patterns and effective application
    • Experience with Observability/Monitoring technologies: Splunk, DataDog, Elastic Stack/ELK, Grafana, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Kafka
    • Experience with Container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, PKS

    Job Expectations:

    • The perfect candidate will have Full Stack Java development (software engineering) experience and enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation while influencing change at scale in a diverse environment.
    • You will join a focused team of developers and peer engineers introducing and advancing enterprise technology solutions across several hundred applications within EFT. You will specifically design and implement custom solutions aimed at closing current gaps or increasing efficiencies at broad scale with a focus on enhanced Operations.
