Senior Systems Operations Engineer

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with Application teams and end users for onboarding platform automation solution such as patching , password mgmt., certificate renewal etc
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Provide L2 support experience with extensive debugging experience and incident management and problem management.

    • Ansible (OS patching, BAU automation, pre/post activities)

    • YAML-based workflow definitions
  • Scripting & Languages-Shell scripting, Python
  • Monitoring & Reliability: Enterprise monitoring & alerting tools, Centralized logging platforms, Incident triage, RCA, MTTR reduction, AppDynamics
  • Release, Change & Patch Management
  • Service Management & Governance
    • ITSM tools (Incident, Change, RITM)
    • Audit, compliance, BCP/DR support
  • Security & Compliance (Ops‑Focused)
    • Vulnerability & patch remediation
    • Secure configuration enforcement
    • Service account & access operations
    • Coordination with AppSec / InfraSec teams
  • Cloud & Modern Platforms
    • Hybrid cloud operations
    • Application migration support (rehost/replatform)
  • Collaboration & Documentation
    • Confluence (runbooks, SOPs, architecture)
    • SharePoint (trackers, governance artifacts)
    • Take appropriate steps to bring any open support cases to resolution in timely manner.
  • Provide applications and product support by checking issues in Splunk and have experience working on Splunk queries and creating dashboards and setting up notification in Splunk.
  • Work on designing, operationalizing, maintaining and scaling production MW applications in Tomcat, JBoss, Apache and Weblogic.
  • Identify Issue/problems related to process, assess, identify and fix performance related issues.
  • Work on Deployment, Configuration management with good troubleshooting skills for MW Products
  • Work on analyzing, understanding and documenting the business processes in detail where required.
  • Work extensively on innovation and service improvements.
  • Identify and communicating the technical infrastructure requirements.
  • Support existing processes and implementing change requirements as part of a structured change control process.
  • Must have experience in scripting using Batch, Advanced Powershell and Python.
  • Ability to think out of the box to design, build and implement solutions across various business lines
  • Strong communications skills, both in writing and speaking.
