About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Risk Analytics Consultant which is the functional title of the Unsecured Lending Strategy and Growth Analytics role and they will sit in the Consumer Banking and Lending division in the Cards and Personal Lending line of business. As a Senior Lead Risk Analytics Consultant, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, leveraging large-scale consumer lending data to identify growth opportunities, assessing risk, and shaping long-term portfolio strategies and creating a significant opportunity to drive expansion through data-driven insights and innovative risk strategies.

 We are seeking a highly curious, analytical, and business-minded leader to help uncover growth opportunities and influence the future direction of our Personal Loans business.

This is an opportunity for a strategic individual contributor who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys asking the questions others miss, and can translate complex data into executive-level recommendations that influence decisions across Risk, Product, Finance, and senior leadership.


In this role, you will:

  • Analyze industry, competitor, and consumer lending trends to identify growth opportunities within unsecured lending.

  • Leverage extensive credit bureau and marketplace data, including the Experian Sandbox environment, to evaluate portfolio performance and emerging opportunities.

  • Extract, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets using SAS, SQL, and Python.

  • Build compelling executive narratives that simplify complex findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Evaluate lending performance through various economic environments and develop recommendations to strengthen portfolio resilience.

  • Assess competitive positioning, pricing strategies, customer selection trends, and portfolio performance.

  • Separate meaningful signals from data noise and confidently communicate key risks, insights, and opportunities.

  • Partners across Risk, Product, Finance, Marketing, and Lending organizations to drive strategic decisions.

  • Lead complex analytical initiatives with limited direction and structure ambiguous business questions into actionable analyses.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Experian Sandbox environment.

  • Experience using credit bureau data, including Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion.

  • Experience with origination strategies, customer acquisition analytics, underwriting strategy, or portfolio risk management.

  • Knowledge of consumer lending P&L drivers, pricing strategy, and portfolio economics.

  • Strong experience within unsecured consumer lending, including Personal Loans, Credit Cards, or related products.

  • Advanced SAS, SQL, and Python skills with experience working with large datasets.

  • Experience developing and supporting consumer lending risk strategies, credit policies, or portfolio management initiatives.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and statistical problem-solving skills.

  • Experience communicating complex analytical findings to senior business leaders.

  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and influence decision-making across multiple stakeholders.

  • Graduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Finance, or related quantitative discipline.
