About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Deploy, configure, and manage large-scale Tableau server environments.

  •  Conduct platform sizing, performance monitoring, and tuning.
  •  Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions.
  •  Manage software and hardware upgrades, patches, and other change management tasks.
  •   Install and configure Tableau clusters with high availability on various platforms.
  •   In-depth understanding of authentication and authorization aspects of Bl tools in addition to setting up federated SSO (SAML) for user access.
  •   Develop and maintain automation scripts using Windows batch scripting and PowerShell.
  •   Automate deployments, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
  •   Provide production support for Tableau servers on Windows platforms.
  •   Troubleshoot and resolve server performance issues.
  •   Provide expert-level support for server-related incidents.
  •   Use server monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance.
  •   Implement performance optimization techniques.   
  •   Work with various database management systems, preferably Google Big Query, Oracle, SQL and Postgres.
  •   Configure network components including load balancers, firewalls, ACLs, and core components like HTTP, DNS, and routing.
  •   Develop and document standards and best practices for Tableau development and administration.
  •   Administer other BI platforms like Cognos and Power BI is highly preferred to enable cross functioning and holistic approach to solutions even beyond Tableau.
  •   Maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
  •   anage offshore and onshore delivery effectively.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Administer and manage Tableau Server environments.
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades for BI tools.
  • Handle report migration from Tableau and Business Objects to Power BI or ThoughtSpot.
  • Ensure system performance, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for troubleshooting and optimizing BI solutions.

Preferred Certifications

  • Tableau Server Certified Professional
  • SAP Business Objects Certified Administrator(optional)
  • Microsoft Power BI Certification (optional)
  • ThoughtSpot Certification (optional)

  • Proven track record of report migration to modern BI platforms (Power BI / ThoughtSpot).
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and performance tuning.
