About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director level trader to join our Fixed Income Financing (FIF) department. FIF provides client financing solutions, secured funding and collateral optimization to clients of the Markets Division and across Corporate and Investment Banking.  Products include repo, reverse repo, and total return swaps.  FIF has offices in New York, Charlotte, Dublin, London & Hong Kong. 


In this role, you will:

  • Assume global responsibility for building and managing a corporate credit financing business
  • Drive originations and assist with the full spectrum of functions associated with the build-out of a marketable securities financing business: (including but not limited to) credit risk management, operational risk management, infrastructure development, governance and procedures
  • Participate in the complete life cycle of credit financing transactions - from sourcing supply to document negotiation and risk monitoring.
  • Maintain and strengthen deep relationships in the marketplace, spanning a broad selection of counterparty types: hedge funds, asset managers, insurance companies and banks.
  • Advise leadership to develop objectives, plans, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs
  • Assist clients with financial goals
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of some of the most complex and significant challenges across Securities Trading
  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and resolution
  • Act as a top subject matter expert in the financing markets for investment grade, high yield and distressed corporate bonds to lead complex, innovative, and diverse initiatives with high risk or with significant scope, cost, and benefits
  • Collaborate and consult with internal partners and managers
  • Serve as an expert advisor to leadership, working collaboratively with Credit Sales & Trading, Macro, and Prime Finance
  • Represent the company externally in industry networking events


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Securities Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant global credit financing experience, specifically in repos and securities lending
  • Established deep relationships with counterparty types: hedge funds, asset manager, insurance companies and banks.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field
  • Strong understanding of modelling and trading
  • Solid creative and strategic thinking skills
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
  • Prior management experience is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal
  • Good communication skills as the job will require frequent interaction internal stakeholders and senior management
  • Resilient and proven business builder with strategic vision
  • Experience with Calypso for booking and Risk management

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
