About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Market Risk Specialist for the Data Management & Maintenance (DMM) – Data Sourcing team within Market & Counterparty Risk Management (MCRM). DMM is responsible for sourcing and integrating the data used across MCRM for risk management, regulatory reporting, capital processes, and stress testing. The team also partners with business lines and technology groups to strengthen the firm’s strategic data foundation.
The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working across cross‑functional teams. This role focuses on data, systems, and controls that support market and counterparty risk. The position requires regular collaboration with MCRM teams, business data partners, and technology groups.
In this highly visible role, you will partner with market risk leaders, front-office professionals, business stakeholders, and technology teams to ensure the quality, integrity, and accessibility of critical risk data used for regulatory reporting, capital calculations, stress testing, and enterprise risk management. Beyond solving complex data challenges, you will help shape the future state of Wells Fargo's risk data ecosystem through strategic initiatives that improve processes, controls, and infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with front office, market risk SMEs, and technology partners to deliver data and solutions.
Lead strategic initiatives to enhance risk data and infrastructure.
Analyze data to identify issues, determine root causes, and recommend remediation.
Balance independent analytical work with team priorities and broader MCRM objectives.
Partner with peer groups across market risk, strengthening shared processes.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, Trading, Middle Office, or Risk Data Management functions within a Capital Markets environment.
Strong understanding of trading products, positions, exposures, valuations, risk metrics, regulatory reporting, stress testing, and capital processes.
Demonstrated experience leveraging SQL and analytical techniques to investigate data quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, validate risk data, and drive remediation across complex data ecosystems.
Experience with data sourcing, data governance, data lineage, controls, and risk data management initiatives.
Proven ability to partner with Business, Risk, and Technology stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions and influence outcomes across cross-functional teams.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Wells Fargo platform experience and CFA/FRM certifications are a plus.
