Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Market Risk Officer. This role sits within the Credit and Municipal Market Risk Oversight team, supporting Credit Sales & Trading, Municipal Products Group, and Global Secured Trading businesses. The position focuses on risk governance, model oversight, stress testing, and data-driven risk analysis, partnering closely with Front Office, Risk Analytics, Finance, and Technology. The Corporate Market Group is responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all market risk measurements, including risk factor sensitivities, Value-at-Risk (VaR) and stress scenarios.

In this role, you will:
- Utilize market risk measures such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress scenarios and risk factor sensitivities to monitor, report and mitigate market risk exposures originating from the market-making activities of the Credit Sales & Trading and Municipal Products Group business as well as the Global Secured Trading business.
- Partner with Front Office leadership, trading desks, and key CIB stakeholders to provide strategic market risk guidance and independent challenge for new business initiatives, product expansions, and evolving trading strategies.
- Lead end-to-end risk assessments to ensure new activities are supported by appropriate risk frameworks, limits, measurement capabilities, governance, and controls, while facilitating alignment with the firm's risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and New Business Initiatives (NBI) governance processes.
- Analyze complex models and products to ensure comprehensive market risk capture, consistent with the market risk mandate and higher-level risk management policies.
- Collaborate with CMRG management, Credit & Municipal Market Risk Oversight team members to maintain an effective and comprehensive market risk framework across coverage areas.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior risk experience in leading risk governance and oversight activities across trading businesses, including assessment of risk exposures, limit frameworks, utilization trends, escalation protocols, and adherence to market risk policies, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.
- Demonstrate experience in challenge of quantitative methodologies and risk models through performance monitoring, model validation engagement, and assessment of key assumptions, limitations, and evolving market dynamics.
- Advanced technical proficiency in risk analytics and data management tools, including Microsoft Excel/VBA and the development of scalable analytical solutions to support risk measurement, reporting, and governance.
- Strong SQL and data interrogation capabilities with experience leveraging large and complex datasets to identify risk concentrations, emerging trends, and actionable insights.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex market risk information and evaluate the implications of changing market conditions across products and portfolios.
- Executive-level communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to translate complex market, trading, and risk concepts into clear, concise, and actionable insights for senior management, governance committees, and regulators.
